I hope this letter finds you as well as I was utterly flabbergasted at todays Prophet. News has reached my ears, though I can hardly believe it to be true. Is it really the case that you are announcing your candidacy for the Minister for Magic? The first question I must ask is...does Murdock know?

I had to read the report several times over to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me. I mean, I admit to being often surprised by you, but this takes the cauldron cake. Minister for Magic? You and politics? It's like imagining a Blast-Ended Skrewt ballroom dancing! But jokes aside, can you confirm for me that you haven't been hit with a Confundus Charm or been sampling some questionable potion.

I do recall telling you at our first meeting that I aspired to be the Minister of Magic one day, and I do believe that you laughed at the idea even then. The article is true and I have every intention of running and winning. You might as well get used to the idea of calling me Minister.

Murdock isn't aware yet, but he will soon. I have plans to speak to him.
