Dempsey to Run for Minister
Irish gentleman of leisure throws hat in ring for England's highest elected office
Ozymandias Dempsey, oldest son of noted poets Eamon and Lowri Dempsey, registered his candidacy for the upcoming election yesterday. Details about his campaign have not yet been specified, at least as far as our office was able to determine.
Dempsey is primarily a gentleman of leisure, although he also dips his toes into invention. According to the Ludicrous Patents Office, he has a registered patents including adaptive cologne, weather-adjusting overcoats, and snowglobe ecosystems, none of which appear to be available commercially. He is also an active member of society, including being a sponsor of the London Ballet and a member of the gentleman's club Atlantis. He has no prior experience in the Ministry, nor indeed does he have experience in a traditional occupation of any kind. His reasons for embarking on the campaign trail are somewhat obscure, as several friends of his who were asked to comment mentioned that he had never previously expressed an interest in politics, "though he does have opinions about everything," as one remarked.
Dempsey is married to a healer from the Pomfrey family. The two have no children. Dempsey and his wife reside at his ancestral home near Galway.
More on Dempsey's campaign as it develops.
