INTRODUCING: BEA

19 | Slytherin '91 | UCPB |  Rep 8 | Deb A Social Disaster™, Bea left Hogwarts after her fifth year (88-89) and did a year at Pendergast before debuting in small dinner party adjacent affair with cards in '90 at 16. She did not make a big splash and her first and second seasons went by without a single offer as she suffers from pretty bad social anxiety. ❧ Friends— There likely aren't many of these as she isn't very open to strangers, and it would take a lot of effort to push past her walls. Likelihood says maybe some girls from her year (dormmates or just classmates?) as I don't see her being really too friendly with any guys. But she could also be from society, other years, or Pendergast. Primary Goal for Nano: She needs friends!!! She could take a million years to hurl I don't care but she needs some positive interactions in her life. Could tie into below or not. ❧ Pendergast Roommate— I've established in her app that the year she went to Pendergast (89-90) she grew quite attached to her roommate. Could this be you? This could be an equal friendship or something more one-sided. Your character could see her as a friend, an annoyance, or someone to be used. ❧ Family— Wanna play her family? She's got a mom and a brother that Lynn has blurbs for here! Adjacent to this - come the eleventh of this November her eldest brother is marrying @'Christabel Dempsey' and as such will have ties to the Dempseys. I would absolutely adore getting to flesh out her relationships with all her new in-laws. Because of her current fight (you know the fights that last for three months oops) with Victor she wants to dislike the Dempseys but honestly, as a whole, I could easily see her liking them more than her own family much to her annoyance. ❧ Hurls/Interests(?)— She's very much someone who blends into a crowd and makes no efforts to stand out but maybe you noticed her? Or maybe you noticed her oddly high dowry? Regardless, as she starts season number three, the Daphnels' have little to no expectations for her to manage a match on her own and likely looking for UC/Upper MC of any blood, and as Lynn put it "If you have an UC bachelor/widower who isn't looking for a stunning conversationalist or magnanimous hostess in a wife, we could talk." I could also be very interested in a case of "bea befriends an older socialite who pushes for her son/grandson to marry her due to their own relationship/friendship" ❧ Other?— An awkward situation? She's a convenient scapegoat likely not to stand up for herself. Other? Hit me up! I am truly down for pretty much anything but death with her right now.

For potential husband material I can offer Terence Higgs or Edgar Minks.

Terence would notice her, simply because he sees things very differently than most people. The fact she's so unnoticeable would interest him. It would be interesting to have them form a friendship of sorts, besides, she seems the perfect sort to use as a model for painting

Edgar would see her as an easy way to get a large sum of money and being connected with an upper class family could only help his own elevation into the ranks of the Upper Class. Besides, he'll like a wife he can easily manipulate and control. Though he would question the high dowry to make sure its not due to her being incapable of having children.

Even if none of these characters interest you as potential husbands, I"m all for threading them and seeing what happens.

Ohh! She and Mathilda Alderton just missed each other at PSYR but they are very similar! Tillie's debut is this month! Beckett is my only UC hurl, but I'm not sure how that would go haha. Torie would be politely friendly I think, but not much beyond that.

Bea's knee-jerk reaction to modeling for anything is heck no way too much attention on me - though in reality would likely be more aggressive head shaking. As far as a friendship, I really can't see her getting out of her shell enough to befriend a man who isn't in the age range to have gone to school with her but I could see her potentially favoring Terence over say another man just because she finds his energy calmer if she ran into him at an event.

As far as husband hurling-wise, with her being so new, I don't want to commit and lay anything into stone just yet as I want to feel her out and feel options out but I'd be happy to tread either pair if you have one you'd prefer!

Ohhhhh I could see that being a potentially smooth pairing, and if they are only a year off, they easily could have met at school beforehand and kept up communication through letters as well as seeing each other over breaks. I'd love to maybe backdate a thread with them at Hogwarts to see how they get along unless you'd rather start something more current and just say they never ran into each other/interacted much at school?

I'm not sure she'd hold Beckett's attention for more than a second if that haha but if it's something that strikes your fancy we could put feelers out and try a thread?

I think Bea might like Torie but is probably intimidated by her tbh. And probably a more than a bit jealous with how easy Bea thinks the social scene comes to Torie.

@"Jemima Farley" was in her year at Hogwarts and was generally anxious-but-friendly in her younger years – she would have enjoyed keeping in touch via letters, and would probs have liked Bea as a friend who maybe didn't hear all the diary drama when Jemima was very unpopular at school xD

Estelle Malfoy is older but was at PSYR at the same time as her and came out the same year, her vibe is "jfc, at least I'm better than her", sorry Bea~

My hurlable men are not the most helpful, but:

Endymion Dempsey, who would be outwardly nice and probs internally judgy, Yassine Bensouda who would either not notice her at all or get a kick out of terrorising her with conversation, Kristoffer Lestrange who would be even worse about that, and Savino Zabini who is not interested in marriage at all, but his mother is trying to get him to marry up so he'd at least be nice at parties.

Porphyria Dempsey might try and talk to her if she finds out she likes gothic novels. xD

We definitely could have Terence and Bea run into each other at some event and see how it goes. Same with Edgar. I understand perfectly you aren't in any rush to find a husband for her since she is very new. If you want her to meet somebody to up the tensions and stress her...Edgar would be ideal.

Even if Bea had heard it - which seems unlikely but hey the grapevine is a thing - she'd have kept her head down and wouldn't have said a word about it. Her hanging out with Jemima could have been a possibility though she mayyyy have started to not be around as much if being around Jemima meant more attention on her but wouldn't have broken off any friendship. Unless maybe it was something that formed in the aftermath?

If Torie intimidates her Estelle terrifies her. Haha.

Honestly every single one of those would amuse me highly and I am very down for those awkward situations if there is a pair or two you'd want to try out??

Ok, possible events Terence and Edgar could be invited to would be the Daphnel Dinner Party (Edgar is a wealthy upper-Middle Class businessman and pureblood). Terence is Upper-class Muggleborn so I think both would qualify to be there.

The Swan Lake Ballet Performance event would be something Terence would go to.

That's the only two events I think would fit for Terence and/or Edgar to be at right now. I have no problem doing two threads, one for each of my characters, whether both at the dinner party or one at each event, whatever works for you.
