This is Barbie. He is an extremely loud and egotistical goofball that loves to be the center of attention. Currently he is a private investigator alongside his best friend and is perhaps too willing to cut a few moral corners to get the answers his client wants. Because where is your husband really going with that good friend of his? Or is that debutante that your son is interested in really as innocent as she seems? Perhaps there are even some skeletons to be found in the closets of those you despise the most!

School Connections:

• Slytherin from 1874-1881.
  
• He played chaser on the quidditch team since his second year.
  
• His desire to be loud and the center of attention caused him to lose house points and gain detention often.
  
• I imagine his ego and competitive nature might have rubbed some of the other houses' quidditch players the wrong way.

• He frequents the streets of Hogsmeade daily as he hates being cooped up in the house.
  
• Drinking buddies! Barbie loves a good drink and shenanigans admittedly a bit too much. He can be a bit of a handful when drunk though.

• He can be extra hot-headed when drunk so I can completely see some bar room banter having gone south and ended in a fight.
  
• His stepbrother is Rhys Gallagher who is the chief constable in Hogsmeade. I imagine the other constables probably have some sense of who he is and how obnoxious he can be.
  

Flirts:

• He is the kind of guy to go out of his way to make sure a pretty girl on the street saw that he smiled at her. Basically he’s a huge flirt and will put in a lot of effort to try and charm a girl.
  
• Past connections that are still in his life on an antagonistic friendship level.

Eugene Scamander and Jesse Hatchitt in his age range, Eugene more likely as he's a little looser in propriety than Jess, but Jess was an asshat in school, so they could still be bros. They both played quidditch too.

Bronwyn Moony fits your ideal "past antagonistic lover" mode perfectly. Like that is her. Her life's blood. And they might have known one another at school.

I adore Winnie and am 1000% here for them to have this type of relationship. I imagine he could use someone straightforward in his life to slap him around and to use as a sounding board when he needs real answers. Plus who doesn't love some antagonistic banter?! XD Any ideas for where they'd be meeting or running into each other? I can probably come up with something he might want to talk to someone about. Or he might even seek her out just because he's bored and the only other options are go home to Rhys or drink alone lmao.

I can see Barbie being friends with either or both when it comes to Eugene and Jesse! Especially if they both played quidditch. Whoever would be down for a bit more loud in their life might be best lmao. You thinking drinks?

Personality wise I think he'd get on with Ben, though there's a bit too much of an age gap for them to have been close since school so it'd probably have to be established more recently, probably from seeing each other at pubs or Quidditch matches or something.

What I'm really here for is that I want to force Henrietta Cartwright to talk to him and maybe hire him to investigate some wealthy potential husband for her (and maybe help her blackmail that guy into marrying her?) - IDK I'm still pondering where it goes but I think 1) she is desperate enough and 2) she has enough money and 3) any interaction between the two of them would be hilarious.

Oh man, Ben and Barbie seem like they'd have a lot of fun together! Thinking about it, I can see Barbie going to quidditch matches often so they could have easily met that way. Or the influence of booze could have made them extra chummy one time when they were both at a bar. Maybe we could get a group drinking thing going or something if more drinking buddies come forward.

Omg this sounds amazing! I'm not sure if he'd want to have a super active part in the blackmail, but he'd get her the stuff she'd need to do it. Sorta like, "here's the stuff, do with it what you will." I messaged Bree today about the idea of having him have an ad in WW so maybe that could be a way for her to have found out about him? I like the idea of August Echelon-Arnost occasionally hiring him to dig up dirt on investigations/other potential culprits/people his clients want investigated.

Benjamin Woodcroft works with Jack and Rhys and was in his year! Possibly Benji has temporarily arrested him once or twice?

Kieran Abernathy was ALSO in his year and is a better connection imo - DRINKING BUDDIES PLZ.

Noble Greengrass is friends ???? (read: accidentally did crimes with) Henri, and also occasionally sells abortion potions, so uhhh available for investigating on the abortion thing or for loose Henri-connections.

Augusta Robins, WCHB, was the year below, major tomboy, played quidditch at school and now professionally! Also friends with Winnie, so her opinions of him will be coloured by that, but she is also a Pennyworth resident so they might still get on or have a ~friendly rivalry! xD

Tybalt Kirke, MCMB, was a couple years younger than him in school, but also quidditchy and local to Hogsmeade and bad influences to tempt him with childish shenanigans are ALWAYS welcome, even though he is, gasp, a father now xD

Yassine Bensouda is UCPB and a quidditch sponsor and not an obvious associate but is down for ~slumming it on occasion and 100% up for a brawl or confrontation if banter goes south and/or the opportunity presents itself. (Also, coincidentally, has some loose acquaintance with both Esteban and Henri if either of those are useful as an in?)

Viola Corner is WCHB, lives in Pennyworth and works on the High Street, is a general chatterbox if he needs gossip from the modiste's and very easily swept off her feet if he wanted to flirt. xD
