Appearance: Standing at an even 5 ft 10 inches, Victor is a rather tall chap with a solid build. While he doesn't cut a particularly burly figure, one can tell by the way he stands that he's well built and quick on his feet. Five years as Gryffindor Quidditch Team's Keeper, he has the training and sharp, dark eyes of an observer. He's often found clean-shaven with a pleasant air about him. Given his position, he's well dressed and carries around a silver pocket watch, a family heirloom. His wand arm is his right arm.

History:
1859 | Victor is born the first son of George and Violet Carrow. He proves to be an amiable child, though not without his own little quirks. One such quirk was that he didn't take his first few steps until he saw his father's broom, in which case it turned into his first run. That Christmas, he was given a small broomstick model that hovered a few inches off the ground. Though it only went at slow speeds, it didn't stop him from terrorizing the family governess by zooming around every corner. This he takes part in with the next door (if next-door could be used to describe those living in the estate nearby) neighbor's son, Simeon, who's given the same model broomstick. The governess quits soon after this becomes a weekly ritual.

1861 | A second son is born in the Carrow household — Ira. To Victor, Ira is a squishy blob who isn't allowed to have much fun, and so Victor occupies himself with hanging out with Simeon instead.

1864 | In a letter to his mother from Simeon's mother, the Carrows hear of Simeon's first act of magic and send over congratulatory flowers as well as a few magical toys to the Shafiq's. A week later, Victor sends his childhood broomstick soaring up into the chandelier before dinner. It's so tangled in there that the chandelier must be dismantled first and then put back together. That summer, twin baby girls are born. They name one Ivy and the other Peony.

1869 | Peony's first act of magic comes at a disagreement with their parents. In a fit, the salad at dinner flies everywhere and when the chaos clears, she is nowhere to be found upstairs. Downstairs, she confides in the family butler asking for some advice about where to go, as she's decided to run away. Victor, who's had the mind to know where she would go, overhears, and works with the butler to convince her to stay.

When Simeon's parents go on a holiday, Simeon stays with the Carrows. Victor sees this as a great gift, seeing as the two have come to be thick as thieves (sometimes literally, if they're feeling mischievous). All is good and well with the two until just before march when they receive word about a terrible tragedy. Both Asa and Indira Shafiq have succumbed to an illness and are pronounced deceased.

The next few months toss the entire family into mild disarray; many distant relatives come to claim the Shafiq heir, however, the Carrows remain obstinant. Simeon is to stay with them until the will is proclaimed. Ultimately, their insistence is rewarded and Simeon Shafiq is pronounced sole heir, with his fortune looked after until he is of age to claim it. Per Simeon's father's wishes, he is to remain in care of the Carrows until he is of age — something Victor at the age of 10 is only too happy to welcome (though he hides his thoughts rather well until the appropriate amount of time has passed).

1870 | Ivy's first act of magic mercifully arrives in the form of a baking mishap. She is found downstairs next to the cook, watching a bowl and whisk hover in mid-air, performing the act as if someone had cast a spell.

Victor and Simeon attend Hogwarts together and (to the pleasure of the entire family) are both sorted into Gryffindor. This is the exact boost he needs to get settled into the new school, for being separated in different houses was one of the things Victor feared about his friendship with Simeon. Sure, with all they had been through they would have weathered it, but that was the one obstacle Victor knew would make it that much easier for the two of them.

1872 | Victor's first few years fly by with little consequence; he does decently well in his classes, and while he exhibits intelligence, he doesn't attempt to be the best in the class by any means. Where he does find he excels is in the sport of Quidditch. He has a keen eye for detail and is able to focus on the many parts of the game while still maintaining focus on the entire game. His grades see a slight dip as he prepares for tryouts. His sacrifice in grades pays off and he is named Keeper.

1874 | The beginning of their fifth year sees Simeon made Prefect; an occasion the family celebrated, however, Victor can't help but feel slightly jealous. Nevertheless, it passes and he eventually is happy for his best friend. That year sees Simeon's duties increase, which gives Victor the chance to focus on Quidditch instead. Later that year he blocks a particularly nasty blow and is knocked out of the game. He's put on bed rest for the next week. It's not all doom and gloom; he'd blocked a bludger from hitting on of his teammates — a particularly pretty girl named Rose — and he's visited by her in the Hospital Wing at least twice. Needless to say, her visits made him sail through the rest of the semester. At this time, he also takes up Duelling Club, and finds it quite a fun way to spend his time when he's not practicing for Quidditch.

1875 | The year begins on a few a happy notes. The twins start Hogwarts & Victor finds out he made Quidditch Captain, which means he's awarded quite a few of the same perks that Simeon is. The Dynamic Duo are at it again! Then, Ivy and Peony shock the entire family by being sorted into different houses. Ivy into Slytherin and Peony into Gryffindor. Both are rather upset by this, as they'd looked forward to being in the same house, quite like Victor and Simeon, with Ivy feeling extremely left out.

The fact that this is Victor's sixth year dawns on him gradually and he realizes that he must choose a profession. As much as his family are quite alright with him being a gentleman of leisure, Victor finds he has too much energy to spend throughout the day just paying calls. Eventually, he lands on the idea of playing professional quidditch. The only thing to it is to tell his family, which he knows they might not agree to.

1876 | With the previous summer spent working to warm his family up to the idea of him playing professional Quidditch, Victor seeks out an alternative. Violet Carrow attempts ot convince her son to take a different path; dueling perhaps, instead, since he had taken a shine to that during school as well. Victor remains obstinate that it is to be Quidditch. During his final year, he realizes he's quite good at Quidditch strategy, as well as administrative work (at least when dealing with the sport). And soon comes to the compromise of becoming a Quidditch Referee at the Ministry. When the time comes, however, Victor is conflicted, and still would rather be in the game rather than calling it.

1877 | After a hard series of tryouts, Victor ultimately fails at being made Keeper for the Montrose Magpies. Despite this, he still refuses to give up, much to his mother's chagrin. Incredibly, the same year he finds out that Rose — the girl whom he'd taken a fancy to in the latter part of his time at Hogwarts — makes the team. This makes him even more determined to win.

1878 | The next year Victor is finally named Keeper for the Montrose Magpies — second-string, anyways. At the end of his first match, he eventually re-connects with the pretty girl from the match where he was put on bed rest. Gradually throughout the year the two encounter each other more and more; mostly by happenstance, however, Victor finds himself pondering over if they haven't been at least half orchestrated by some scheme.

1880 | After a few years of successful matches, Victor is at the top of his Quidditch career. Of course, that is when fate intervenes. During a particularly rough match, both Victor and Rose are swept away by a gust of wind and hurled into a nearby lake. Victor is knocked unconscious by the blow, while Rose manages to stay conscious. She manages to save him, however in doing so, she perishes. By the time he is fished out he is nearly half dead. With magic on their side, he's revived, however, he must remain in St. Mungos for a few weeks under supervision. Survivor's guilt and a diagonal scar on his back are the lasting marks that he carries with him from this point onward.

1881| The incident at the Quidditch match leaves Victor despondent. He quickly realizes that while he still loves the game, playing is simply not the same. After leaving the Magpies, he finds a job in the dueling commission at the Ministry. It's not too bad, and the job keeps him on his toes for the time being.

1885 | Five years have passed since Victor's accident, and while he's begun to fly again, it's still a far cry from ever playing. Regardless, he finds himself longing for the game and goes to matches whenever he can.

1886 | After a discussion with Simeon, Victor ultimately decides that Quidditch is still a viable option as a career path, if not slightly deviated. He enters into the Quidditch Gaming offices and begins a career as a Quidditch League Referee.

1888 | With the position of Assistant Head of the Department of Magical Games & Sports vacated, Victor takes the position; a move that he discovers feels quite right for his situation. Eventually, he plans on moving into the Head of Department, however that position is soon taken by Fitzroy Prewett.

1891 | Life continues on as normal for Victor; he's a single bachelor with a good position and a good inheritance. While he isn't constantly haunted anymore by the accident that killed Rose, this lack of closure and weight of survivor's guilt has led him to be rather wary of taking on any sort of courtship,

Personality: — CONFIDENT — PROFESSIONAL — JOVIAL — AMIABLE — ENERGETIC —
Other:
— He still sometimes feels survivors guilt after what happened to Rose.

— He hates anything to do with bodies of water larger than a shallow pond.

— Since the incident, he hasn't been able to cast a Patronus.

— His Boggart is Rose's risen from the dead and accusing him of her death.
