Lonely Plots

Have you got a grand idea for a plot but need a role (or roles) filled in before it can really take off? Post below describing the sort of character you need, your intention for them, and, if possible, how many threads you might require!

For example:

Quote:Wanted for Jeremy Rohlwing: a potioneer he can pay to brew an (unsuccessful) Eyesight-Improving Potion for him. MC/WCAB, professional or amateur, does not have to be reputable. Estimated 1-3 threads. Contact MJ by Skype.

You can be as vague or as detailed as you like!  Requests for specific characters to be created must instead be posted in plottable characters. This thread is intended only to recruit existing characters into your schemes.

PMs on this account will not be checked.
Instead, please contact Ursula Black, Aldous Crouch, Cassius Lestrange, Elias Grimstone or Faustus Prewett with any questions, issues, or concerns.

Still seeking as of June 4, 2025. Be my whirlwind lover!

Not for Tycho but for generally almost any of my hurlable and emotionally available characters:

I am once again, sending out a beacon for a whirlwind romance that is a courtship ending in marriage where everything happens in only a couple short months before the pair even really get to know one another.

I blame this song.

Quote:Kayte: Also there needs to be a girl Maeve in his year so people literally call him boy Maeve
No plot inkling or anything beyond that she would get called Girl Maeve so people know they're talking about her and not Boy Maeve. Would personally be funny to me if shes all cheery, peppy, sunshine in contrast to his personality though lmao.

Taking the term "ghost writing" literally. Still active, June 2025

Your character is emphatically not a writer, but their deceased husband/wife/longtime live in "best-friend"/etc was. Unfortunately now that they're gone, the income from their writing is as well, and your character needs that income to sustain their current lifestyle. Enter Don Juan, ghost writer with no scruples and very little inclination to call your bluff if you "miraculously" find several unpublished works to be published posthumously.

Is this an unlikely society alliance, a comedic duo, a slow burn romance, an opening to some thriller intrigue we'll both get tied up in, something else? Let's find out!

Message in a Bottle

Writer Dan and I were watching something recently and a "message in a bottle" came up and I was like, "DING PLOT IDEA" and here I am. This is loose, but I do love a good letter plot.

I can be on either side of this and I would like for it to remain open-ended, but y'all know me, the messier the better! But basically they get an actual message in a bottle probably in the Black Lake, but some of my characters could also get to the Sanditon. Thanks to you know, magical owls, a letter exchange begins and we go from there! I'm game for either a "good" match or something wildly inappropriate either by mismatched classes or stations in life, purist views, reverse age gap, you name it!

Senders: Min-kyu Yun but like... accidentally, Tabitha Chevalier

Recipients: any of the above + Gemma Simpson Sage Whitby Cordelia Emsworth or Mateo Sutherland could work!

If this strikes your fancy please reach out via PM on Daff or if you have one of my other direct messaging options, that's fine too!

still seeking as of june 4, 2025

I am in want of the following plotline: wealthy, upper class woman (played by me!) runs off and marries a working class man for what she strongly believes is love.

Cue ensuing chaos of said woman having to adjust to now being poor, having to pay attention to finances, having no staff to tend to her every whim and so on.

Candidates I have for this are: Darling Whitledge or Lycoris Dempsey.

I think I generally just am in the mood for intensely romantic drama/scandal that involves my character as one of the ship pairs but sssh.

You are: a misogynistic, traditionalist man in the age range of 21-24 (though Charlotte did not initially know this about you).

You once: had a budding romance with Charlotte that began in Spring 1893.

But: it all fell apart and ended in July 1893 when Ross announced the upcoming election, when you voiced your firm view that women should not vote and belong at home. And thus you expected Charlotte one day to do so.

This did not end at all well for you, let's thread out the incident.

Oh. Oh no.
As a physician and healer, Wystan has a lot of knowledge and is fairly well-regarded. What he does not have is a wife.

Enter: You. You are female & female presenting, aged 20-30, not presently scandalous, and one of the following:
Either the Doctors Pomfrey are your family's physicians, or you are connected to them via one of the Pomfrey daughters.

Unfortunately, you have gotten yourself into a bit of trouble. The time sensitive kind. Without obvious connections to people who could make this go away (or due to your concience), you go to Stan for help. Stan knows a lot of things, but abortions are not his specialty. He does, however, want to be helpful.

So he proposes.

I am open to an existing or new character! This could be either a short-term commitment (broken or refused engagement over weeks/a couple of months) or long-term (we are married and must deal with it).

This will earn you connections to... Thomasina Dempsey Ozymandias Dempsey Ani Pomfrey
Don't have anyone to suit? Double Duty with... Nevermind, Molly Brown, Danaher Girls, Miss Binns, Miss Oakby

FOR DOROTHEA POTTS
Updated 4th June 2025

Her life needs new direction, one of the following options, due to traditions of marriage for women these will eventually become mutually exclusive but both are stories for now until she marries. They could even be combined, are you a single father who is available to marry? The pretty spinster governess might be for you?

Option 1: With Hyacinth Valenduris now a little old for need of a governess Dorothea is looking for a new and younger charge to continue the career she loves. She had impeccable references and an excellent reputation so would fit into which ever family needs her. At this point in she wont come particularly cheap (honest pay for a good governess) so probably wont be of interest for a working or lower middle class household.

Option 2: A man in the 30-40ish range looking for an intelligent, pretty, and well mannered wife with a few years of personal growth under her belt but no baggage and a closet entirely free from skeletons. He should also be fairly free of personal scandal.

The Race is On

Reposting this from Bee's thread!

This is the first time Beckett is taking the season seriously (yay!) and June is not as in a rush, but they’re both competitive so the Race is On. They’ve come to a gentleman’s agreement to see if one of them can beat the other to courting, possibly engagement by season’s end. There will be meddling and subterfuge just for the game of it. Neither one of them are very good at losing and that’s half the fun.

This is wildly open-ended! We have no end goal in mind, but what we really need are some dedicated hurling threads in which there might be a real possibility for something to come out of it. Give us all the wrenches!

For Beckett that’s M/UCPB ladies between 22 - 30. Realistically, it’s open to UCHB girlies as well! It might not be as easy, but want to cast a wider net. We can cross that bridge when we get to it. Personality wise, probably somebody who can either give him a run for his money or doesn't mind being more traditional; he's not out here for some great love, but needs someone who can keep up with the Longbottom’s extended family with hosting etc.

For June, UCPB 25+ gents, although she might consider HB if she finds them entertaining. Personality wise, June would like someone who matches her energy because she absolutely cannot stand people who bore her. (Talking about the weather or something else incredibly generic is a good way for her to cross your name off her list.) She’s not looking for a love match.

SEEKING GOVERNESS [or therapist]

Ariana's habit of wandering, dazed, about Godric's Hollow has not gone unnoticed. With rumors creeping into the garden and the family's reputation already very rocky, I would love to find a governess of sorts to control teach Ariana. This could be someone she will bond to who might help her stabilize. It could also be someone who's going to be horrible for her and make everything worse. Either way sounds fun to me? My goal is to get her, as a character, into a position to start school next year!

This is probably more of a plottable but I am looking to hopefully cast in an already existing character before heading that way.

You are: A female healer/mediwitch/etc between the ages of 17-20 that worked at either Hospital at the time of Wallys injury in September 1893 following the dragon attacks. If she worked at St. Mungos, she kept tabs after his care was transferred to Hogsmeade Hospital when he was discharged from St. Mungos in November 1893.

The premise: you, for whatever reason, kept track of Wallace and his progress to the point that you have become (or already were? you do you) a friend of the family. In October 1894 when Wally was fitted with a prosthetic, you took it upon yourself to try and help him along.

Now: Wally is still mostly wheelchair bound but can make it around the family garden on his prosthetic if he uses crutches, largely thanks to your encouragement. You are continuing to help along with that but also - romantic feelings~ have been long since been bubbling up and are set to burst any moment now.

People Will Say We're In Love
Don’t take my arm too much,
Don’t keep your hand in mine.
Your hand feels so grand in mine,
People will say we’re in love!

I am in want of a particular romance plot inspired by this song in Oklahoma! That goes as follows:

Male Character (MC) and Female Character (FC) have been long-time friends since Hogwarts days (likely are around the same age so were at least at Hogwarts together for more than three years) and now Female Character is considered eligible. Probably a new debutante (does not need to actually be one) or at least debuted in the last couple of years.

Anyway, they are linked up pretty often but have been friends so long they don't personally consider or acknowledge the long-present romantic undertones of their friendship. So they often get jealous and probably subtly possessive of the other without fully realizing this.

How long will it take these two clueless people to realize they are in love?

Potential candidates I am vibing with this for are: Paxton Fudge or Gabriel Orpington for the male role (which I'd prefer!)
Or Ilysa MacFusty for female.

Part of That World

Levina is a fresh debutante on the scene and expected to stay focused on the task at hand. The marriage market. That does not mean, however, that this is not her only interest. Levina dreams of travel and would sooner love to hear from a seasoned expeditionist than someone angling for her hand in marriage.

The plot? Summer shenanigans and a call to the sea of course! If you're brave enough to chat with a sheltered deb about your ocean adventures that is.

YOU.

Philomena here has had a stalker for the past year or so and she's getting increasingly anxious about it. At first, it started with flowers being left here and there, and since she basically breathes plants and flowers, she hasn't really thought much of it. No one really blinks an eye when a flower is left on a desk or on a pathway where they're walking — which is why it's taken Phie so long to realize the messages....might actually be targeted to her?

They've gotten increasingly more elaborate, as well as closer to home. They started out as more common flowers and plants that you'd find anywhere in the wild. And then narrowed down further and further to plants found only within Evergardens. And then plants/flowers only found at her cottage.

Is this romantic attraction? Is someone trying to tell Phie something to get her help with a problem? Who knows! This is extremely open ended <3 pls hmu with any ideas you might have!
