Dearest Elsie,
I apologize for my lack of correspondence as of late. Exam season is fast approaching and I find that the library is bustling more this time of year than ever before. Is Crowdy Memorial nearly as hectic as Hogwarts is at the moment? Have you found anyone sniffling with anxiety in the rows yet?

I feel quite terrible when the students burst into tears. You would think that I would be accustomed to the emotional breakdowns after so many years of working in this library. When in fact, I find that each and every time stings my heart more than the last. It has climaxed to the point where I have begun to consider the prospect of handing out freshly baked biscuits and cups of chamomile tea...

Should I go through with it, I don't suppose that you have a good recipe in your repertoire? My own mother is not one for baking, and I fear that any attempt to make them without some sort of reference would end disastrously. I suppose I could ask the house elves for assistance, but they already have so much to do themselves... In any case, your help would be greatly appreciated if you are able to provide it. And if not, I am sure that I can find something in the stacks that will do just fine.
Sincerely,
Persephone

Persephone,

Exam season, I remember it well. I should think the students could do well with tea and cookies- and a little motherly tending.

It is definitely not quite so hectic here. Rather slow in fact, but steady, always. I am never bored, nor out of things to do. Always something to put away or reorganize. You know how it goes.

I've included my nan's best recipe- gingersnaps. I never quite mastered them, but I think you can handle it. I trust everything is well with you otherwise?
Fondly,
Elsie
