Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
Had it really come to this? Passing Charles Macmillan back and forth like an upright booby prize?

December will be here before we know it and I have decided to do handwoven gifts for my family this year. I have several embroidery patterns set aside that I think suit each of my family members. I just need to get the threads and fabric that I will need. I think I'll make it so that the colors correspond with everyones houses. I think it would be rather suiting.

My mind is still on what happened at the Quidditch World Cup final. That poor woman. I am glad I did not witness the carnage for I feel I would never sleep at night. I was told that the game was quite likely to continue which I feel is a tad ghastly.  A woman died. But I suppose an international event can't just be cancelled when so many people came to our country for it.

The game continued as had been predicted. But beaters are now banned from school Quidditch. Which makes sense but I'm also not sure why that was done there but not in the professional leagues? Especially since it was the audience that had been endangered - not the players - but I suppose they want to be better safe than sorry.

It is the last month of the year. It will soon be 1891 which is even closer to the day my birthday will be here. I will be twenty four soon. I think my new years resolution this year shall be to be more sociable at events. At the very least, I must try.

Christmas is over and done with. I hope everyone enjoyed the gifts that I sent. I started working on most of them in October but still felt a little rushed to have them done in time. I cannot wait for the new year. I have had invitations to a couple of year end parties but shall wait to see what my sisters think.

Life continues to be more of the same. It honestly can get a little boring. I am not sure what I can do to fix it. I know I need to be more proactive at social events but I cannot help how shy I can be. I sometimes with I could be a little more like Calliope who seems to just go after what she wants.

The year in which I will be more firmly considered a spinster is coming soon. I dread it. The things Calliope will likely say. I am so close to simply requesting one of my closest male friends to take me as his bride. Not that I have many of them nor do I know if they would be amenable.
