Ivory's looks have always mirrored her name. With rosy-cheeked porcelain skin, pale green eyes, and blond hair, her mother refers to Ivory and Opal as her "little dolls", though Ivory has always been slightly annoyed by the moniker. She stands at a modest 5' 3" tall with a slender build that has just started to gain the curves of womanhood. Her mother ensures that she and Opal dress in the best muggle fashions they can afford when not confined to their school robes; though Ivory privately prefers wizarding fashion to muggle, wearing it full-time is out of the question until she marries a wizard. She wields her wand with her right hand.History:
1870 | Ivory is brought into the world a full two minutes after her twin, Opal. The girls were the first -- and only, it would turn out -- children born to the Chaucers, and they were spoiled accordingly. Alistair worked as a solicitor while Charity stayed at home with the girls, and the family never wanted for anything.Personality: [Can be as short as 3-4 words!]
1873 | Tragedy interrupts Ivory's contented childhood. Alistair is killed in a freak carriage accident, leaving his family behind in his wake. Ivory can only barely understand the sudden absence of her father and develops something of a temperamental streak in her grief. One day, she throws such a horrific screaming fit that the mirror in the nursery shatters, though she hadn't thrown any of her toys. The nanny, unnerved, departs shortly afterwards and her mother never speaks of the incident again.
1876 | The Chaucers had settled into something of a rhythm after Alistair's death, or at least Ivory had -- but suddenly her mother announces she intends to wed again, this time to a man with children of his own! Ivory rejects the idea of a stepfather before she even meets the man, convinced that to do otherwise is to betray her father's memory (inasmuch as a six year old understands such things). Nonetheless, Charity and Thomas marry, and their families become one. Filled with resentment she doesn't know how to deal with, Ivory takes it out on Rebecca with the full support of her twin behind her. Had their mother stepped in, she likely would have relented, but Charity's indifference was as good as an endorsement in Ivory's eyes.
Ivory's animosity towards her stepsister was cemented when the girl's silverware shatters at dinner one night, much like the mirror in the nursery had. Becky is sent to her room without dinner and their stepfather never speaks of the incident again, but Charity makes an offhand comment once he leaves the room. Ivory and Opal hardly wanted to turn out like that, did they? Whether her mother had forgotten the incident three years ago or was giving something of a warning, Ivory couldn't say, but Becky was clearly other, and Ivory had no intentions of being lumped in with her.
1880 | Ivory's life is upended once again when a strange man appears at the house, declaring that she, Opal, and Rebecca are all witches. Thomas threatens to cast the "abominations" out of the house, but her mother intervenes, much to Ivory's relief. The revelation that she and her stepsister had more in common than anyone could have guessed did not lessen Ivory's resentment of her; for a time, Ivory even blamed her for somehow "infecting" her with her strangeness, and now they were to be dragged off to the basket of freaks together! Nevertheless, September came and the three girls departed for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Ivory's reluctance to attend quickly evaporates before she even crosses the threshold of the castle, as she realizes that the magic of the fairy stories Nanny used to read to her are, in some fashion, true.
