MC&WC AB | REP 3+ | FESTIVAL & DANCE
What: All Saints Day Harvest Celebration
Who: East Ridge Farm is hosting their annual Harvest Celebration a little late this year. The event is open to anyone in the community but is mainly focused on the middle class and working class. Upper class is welcome if they wish to, but this is not a society focused event. All ages are also invited to attend all parts of the event.
Cost: It is free, however, vendors will be set up with stalls to sell treats, all proceeds will go to support displaced families in Irvingly
Where: The Plunkett Farms on the east end of High Street. The farm is on the very edge of Hogsmeade.
Why: To celebrate fall and build community
When: Saturday November 1st, 1895 — a generally sunny day, if a bit cold and breezy
During the day Plunkett Farms will open their grounds to their annual harvest festival. Festival activities will include:- a corn row maze with enchantments to entertain you as you go
- a giant pumpkin carving station
- apple bobbing - with a magical twist - bob for them in air as they float around you
- toy broomstick making
- live music
- a visit from the Headless Hunt
- classes on drying herbs&flowers/storing seeds/and collecting wild herbs (some will be geared toward children and some toward members of the community who may need a refresher from their school days or did not complete much schooling)
- guided nature walks
- a comedy play by local actors
- pony rides for the children
- wreath/flower crown making
- fortune telling
- making pine cone poppets and posies
- small critter racing (watch enchanted animals race through a maze of gourds, place bets as you will)
- a petting zoo (including sheep, cows, llamas, chickens, Scottish cattle)
- hayrides across the farm grounds
- candle making classes
All activities are free. There will also be vendors set up to sell their goods, anyone who sells at markets in any of the three shopping areas in the community (Hogsmeade, Irvingly, and London) have been invited to set up a stall and sell their wears. The farm will have set up a stall from their store that will sell their farm made goods (honey, wool, yarn, potions, cheese). They have also set up a stall to sell warm apple cider and will be selling pumpkin soup for dinner.
Guests are invited to have a picnic lunch. At dinner tables and benches will be brought out for guests to enjoy dinner if they chose to buy or bring it. As the evening falls a bonfire will be lit and enchanted candles will hover over the tables.
Around 8 pm the barn doors will open and guests will be invited inside for a dance. The barn will be decorated (in collaboration with the Florist Potts and Wildflowers London) in fall blooms with enchanted lights above the dance floor. It will smell of apples, hay, and and fall air. The doors will stay open to allow the dancing to spill out into the yard where the supper tables will have been moved away, with the bonfire still playing. Food and drink vendors will still be open but activities will cease when the dance begins. Children are invited to join in the festivities. There is a place set aside with blankets and pillows for those children who are too tired to keep playing and several grandmothers and elderly members of the community will take turns watching the children. It should be noted that the barn is very clean and does not seem as if it is regularly used. If you didn't know better you'd never know that animals are regularly housed there. They have been set to the pastures for the evenings though so no worries about running into them while you are dancing.

ACAB | REP x | School Things
What: Ravenclaw Philosophy Night
Who: Hosted by Professor Foxwood & open to all Ravenclaws.
Cost: N/A
Where: Ravenclaw Common Room — a cozy corner arranged with armchairs, candles, steaming pots of tea and (because it's Basil) lots and lots of pumpkin pasties. (Maybe some other snacks too.)
Why: To exercise the Ravenclaw mind in a relaxed, conversational setting — and perhaps earn a few house points for particularly thought-provoking answers. And to help with Nano!
When: Friday, 14 November (the night before Hogsmeade weekend!) For timing, assume after supper once students have mostly finished in the Great Hall.
Professor Fowxood invites all Ravenclaws to “Philosophy Night”: a cozy common-room discussion on magical thought experiments, ethical conundrums, and lighthearted intellectual banter.
Topics might include questions such as:
– If you transfigure bread into gold, is it still food?
– If a broom flies without a rider, who’s steering it?
– If you erase a memory, does the knowledge still exist somewhere?
Students are encouraged to bring cocoa, curiosity, and a healthy dose of debate. Points will be awarded for clever insights, creative reasoning, and, naturally, good manners in argument.
(I will start a main thread with some prompts and reactions, similar to a class thread, but the debate can run in any direction. Feel free to make "side quest" threads too, as Jen likes to call them lol. I'm happy to have Basil barge in on them to give points or scoldings, or leave them be! Just LMK.)

UC/MCAB | REP 4+ | Winter Hunt
What: Frost Spirit Hunt
Who: Hosted by some NPC. Invites sent out to any UC/MC family with enough status to own a winter cloak fine enough to impress. Guests are welcome to observe or participate in the annual hunt.
Cost: N/A
Where: An estate in Sheffield
Why: Charming 10k To celebrate the colder weather
When: 23 November 1895
As dusk falls, spectators gather along the frost-rimmed lawns for mulled cider and light refreshments while participants gather at the center of the lawn where they learn the rules of the hunt; participants are to pursue the Frost Spirits, which are just a bunch of snitches enchanted to look like tiny ice-winged beings, on enchanted sleds that fly, brooms, or good old-fashioned foot if they’re feeling bold! Any legal spells to catch the spirits are encouraged, and while spells shouldn’t be cast at others playing the game, no one is going to enforce that rule. Once caught the spirits should be put into the provided basket, which ensures they will not fly away.
The weather begins with a gentle snowfall but quickly swells into a full blizzard as the moon climbs higher. Onlookers, of course, enjoy the spectacle from the comfort of a heated tent with mulled cider and refreshments still being passed around. The hunt continues for roughly an hour or two, until the snow finally ceases.
When the last flake falls, hunters return to the lawn’s center to present their captured spirits. The participant with the greatest number will receive a small monetary prize. Once the competition concludes, warming charms sweep the field, the ice melts to glitter, and the lawn transforms into a makeshift dance floor for those who wish to dance the night away beneath the stars.

ACAB | REP ANY | CHAOS
What: Blight of the Living Scarecrows
Who: Anyone
Cost: lol
Where: Hogsmeade and surrounding areas (the temp Irvingly encampment is probably close enough)
Why: well I'm certainly not helping anyone with their 10k by actually posting for them so a chaos event is the next best thing
When: Nov 9 - 18th
A has-since-been-fired farmhand on one of the few farms surrounding Hogsmeade, Phineas Elmore, decided to try and catch up on his harvest workload by animating a series of scarecrows to do the manual labor for him. This worked well for about an afternoon, then the scarecrows got a little too helpful. Eventually Elmore desperately attempted to banish them from the farm and into the nearby forest... except they went the other way and ended up patrolling Hogsmeade, looking for tasks to do. Scarecrows can be encountered around Hogsmeade on November 9th-10th and while they may at first appear to be spookily stalking your characters, they really do just want to help.
At one point a local child, distressed by how sad and lonely one of the scarecrows looks with its lopsided sack head, will suggest that it build itself some family or friends. This is when things take a turn - the newly created scarecrows are also animated and between Nov 11th-12th the likelihood of encountering a rogue scarecrow will tick up higher by the hour, until the Ministry intervenes to start rounding them up. The problem is mostly until control by the 13th but individual scarecrows who evaded the initial Ministry sweep may still be encountered for most of the next week.
