Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
Had it really come to this? Passing Charles Macmillan back and forth like an upright booby prize?

UCPB* | REP 6+ | BALL

What: Lestrange Ball
Who: Hosted by Mr. & Mrs. Lucius Lestrange. Invited are:

The Minister of Magic and his wife
All UCPBs of rep 6+ (If a husband or wife is lower than six, neither the couple nor their adult children are invited)
UCHBs who are the children or spouses of UCPBs, unless any parent was a muggle or anyone involved is known to be partially human.

Cost:
Where: Lestrange House, Mayfair, London
Why:
Ostensibly: the season is drawing to a close and the Lestranges always host exactly one ball.
Actually: Lucius is feeling pleased with himself for having rooted the werewolves out of Ministry leadership.

When: September 5th
It's a ball. There is no theme, because Luicus finds such things frivolous. Those more interested in intellectual discussion than dancing and peacocking may find solace in the library, which is open as well.

ACAB | ANY REP | HARVEST FESTIVAL & FUNFAIR

What: Irvingly Harvest Festival
Who: Arranged by a group of Irvingly business owners & market vendors, open to anyone! As always in Irvingly, there is no public magic, so open to magical and non-magical folk.
Cost: Free to attend (food, drinks and games costs generally accessible to all classes)
Where: Salem Square, Irvingly
Why: End of summer celebrations!
When: Saturday 6th September, dawn ‘til dusk

Salem Square has been taken over for a bustling day-long festival to celebrate the start of the autumn harvest season! Expect autumnal-themed farmer’s market stalls and booths, including a vegetable competition; berry jam and preserve-making; specialty cider, beer and Scotch whisky; fresh baked goods, pies and crumbles; and other refreshments heavy on the apple/cinnamon/pumpkin spice fall theme. Craft corn dollies, make fresh flower wreaths or create dried & pressed flower arrangements on card.

There’s also a temporary funfair in the square, with all the hallmarks of a (non-magical) travelling carnival. There are games and rides for both children and adults – e.g. hook-a-duck, coconut shy, the high-striker strength machine, as well as a carousel, steam-powered swing boats, and a small “pleasure” (Ferris) wheel.

ACAB | REP ANY | HOGWARTS STUDENTS/FACULTY

What: An informal memorial event for Professor Skeeter
Who: Organised and led by Antelope Grace. Hufflepuffs and Garden class members will be directly invited (including HoH, matron and the new Prof Ambrose) but anyone at the school is welcome via word of mouth.
Cost: None
Where: Outside the greenhouse that claimed the professor
Why: A chance for students who didnt attend the funeral and might not have even known to say a short goodbye and honour the man. If asked why she is doing it Antelope will say he was her head of house and a great herbologist that didn't deserve to be alone when he died.
When: Saturday 13th September, 2pm

The event will only be 15-30 minutes. Antelope will give a short reading and say a few words about the man. It is otherwise very informal and unstructured. People are invited to leave flowers and cards at the edge of the barrier that is currently keeping everybody away from the rebuilt greenhouse. But of course these things might be tricky for students to come by.

ACAB | REP <6(ish) | ADULT "SORTING" PARTY

What: Adult "Sorting" Party
Who: Hosted by The Velvet Veil, a public event
Cost: Free entry, but if you want to get "sorted" you need to purchase a cocktail from the bar in the Main Club for 5s
Where: The Velvet Veil, London
Why: A themed event for the adults who are looking for any reason to have a party
When: September 1, 1895 from midnight-11:59pm.

Patrons are invited for a "sorting" event unlike any other. The drinks served by the poltergeist bartender are random, and the houses are completely made up. The drink will also temporarily apply a trait from that house to your person—whether it's an emotion, physical trait, and/or the school uniform. Players can make up their own houses. Our headcanon is there are 30+ houses by the end of the event. Example houses: Silver Newt, in which the person turns completely silver; Flirty Fenelope, in which the person becomes uncontrollably flirty; Fly on the Wall, in which the person becomes... well, a fly on the wall, etc.

ACAB | ANY | CANDLELIGHT VIGIL

What: Vigil for the Vanished
Who: Hosted by a group of survivors of the Irvingly mist, but all are welcome to attend.
Cost: 2k for a candle, with funds of this modest drive going towards a well-intentioned, but currently horribly underfunded, scholarship for children orphaned by the mist.
Where: The center of the refugee camp just outside of Hogsmeade.
Why: SWP!
When: September 21st at Dusk

The community that mourns together moves on together? Come partake in a candlelit vigil in remembrance of all those lost to the Irvingly Mist—and in the hope, however faint, that those lost may someday return to us. A wooden platform at the centre of things is set up for anyone who wishes to speak of the loved ones they have lost.
