Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
Had it really come to this? Passing Charles Macmillan back and forth like an upright booby prize?

The Society for the Transfiguration Arts
Est. 1792

Change breathes life. Without it, who are we? To study the magic of change is to study the breath of life. — Palmiro Plunkett, Founder

THE STUDENTS | There is a summer program for Hogwarts aged folk that may be interested. Slots are immensely limited and there is an 11G fee for entry on top of the merit-based test. The society's time will not be wasted on a student who has no talent. Should an underprivileged applicant apply with impressive talent and reference, a member may sponsor said applicant. Spots are limited to 5 pupils a summer and begins at the OWLs level.

THE MENTORS | On average, members of the society are encouraged to become mentors to younger peers when they first join in. Learning new spells and making social connections. Mentors are discouraged to seek out those of the opposite perceived gender and may have privileges revoked upon doing so. All Transfiguration Professors of accredited institutions have an open invitation to engage in this position no matter of society status upon entering the society.

THE BOARD | The board is elected when a member dies or steps down. To be selected for the board membership, one must have been at the mentorship position for 5+ years and in excellent standing with the society community. The selection is held by society election as the occasion arises. There are only 10 standing members at a time.

THE PREMESIS | The Society for the Transfigurations Arts is primarily located in London, England — with a magical door both in Hogsmeade (est. 1882) and Irvingly (est. 1884) | From the outside, the house is small and unassuming. The average muggle would pass by unawares and would see a run-down old shack at best. Someone with magic in their blood would see nicer accommodations, though still modest at best. Once inside, the sight can be described by some as breathtaking. The primary policy for keeping the setting of the establishment from getting too chaotic is that the floorplan must not change too drastically without board approval and proper planning.
Outside of that, the whims and delight of the transfiguration society is largely left to their own devices so long as it is largely agreed upon that this setting remains tasteful. With many a sort coming in and out, opinions vary as to if things may be a bit odd, but overall, it is a rather whimsical establishment. Walls are never the same when you enter the next day, doors are odd shapes and sizes, furniture can be rather odd to look at every now and again, something out of a Wonderland novel if one were to indulge.
The boarding rooms are a bit less hectic, to keep consistency for members who need a place to lay their head for the night.

THE POLICIES |
❧ All young unwed ladies must have a chaperone — hired or of blood relation is acceptable.

❧ Vulgar language is unacceptable, even in an all-gentlemen lounge. Magical monitoring is in place and consequences for the guilty party will be swift and unique in nature.

❧ All society members are expected to attend events hosted by The Society for the Transfiguration Arts unless circumstances are dire or advance and acceptable notice is otherwise received.

❧  Interest in the Transfiguration Arts is heavily encourage, though a mildly curious mind is welcome under temporary guest status.

❧  A full member may bring up to two guests per month at a small fee at the member's charge.

❧  Non-student members must be 17+ to join.

THE NUMBERS | Charges vary as to supplies and how much accommodations a member wishes to use on the day to day. Each member is given differently transfigured badges unique to their status and pay level. A casual member will only be allowed access to the library and sit in area from about 3pm to 5pm depending on the day, paying the annual fee of 15G for these services. At the price of 25G annually, a full member would be eligible to use various supplies in the club house establishment, a bachelor could rent a room for a reasonable extra fee (a lady must plead her case and is subject to rejection), and several other benefits. All members are free to interact with one another and share knowledge and insight into the world of transfiguration — and other magical arts, should they so choose. All members are also expected to contribute to events where needed, with the perk of a free invite.

If Cad could be sponsored (I imagine Basil Foxwood would give him a good letter of rec, considering he is the Transfiguration Club President lol), I would love to add him to a summer student slot!

They would be in OWLs by now, so would qualify. Are they in the transfiguration club? (Club is not a requirement, but excellent transfiguration grades definitely would be unless there is a reason otherwise)
