While Zipporah may be living the deb life in theory, in reality she likely spends 90% of her social interactions on the topic of eccentric muggle inventions. Or her own inventions. Unlike Jemima, she cares much less what people think of her and is comfortable in her own skin. Her general vibe is 'cute but weird', do what you want with that.

How do you solve a problem like Mia? Mia has never been very good at magic, so her few years at school were hard for her. Since coming home, she has obtained a low-level job, possibly in a shop, and in her spare time uses her artistic flair to help create prettily patterned stationary/card/invitation designs on the little letterpress in the printshop. Prone to daydreaming, she fancies herself an actress, and everyone thinks she would have done very well as a debutante in another life – secretly, she has been known to borrow cast-off ballgowns as her seamstress friend repairs them and sneak into the occasional society party. (Well, if she's designed the invites...) She thinks all her problems would probably be solved by marrying rich.

He’s her head printer, but sometimes Tess feels like Fabian just wants to watch her fail. An experienced printer, he has been working for their shop for years; and though Tess manages the place now, it probably wouldn’t run without him. As her father’s right-hand-man, he may have privately hoped to take over the place in his stead. They used to get along better and he’s still genial with other people, but nowadays Tess finds him difficult, and they tend to butt heads. (He disapproves of her more political publishing decisions, saying the shop can’t afford to lose all its custom to controversy – and she hates when their longstanding customers defer to him and not her.) And she keeps expecting him to, but he hasn’t left Whitby & Co. yet.

Lear Selden

B. 1862 | MCHB | OPEN HOUSE | OPEN OCCUPATION

Lear is Mor's older brother, although the pair have never been close — Lear has always been worried that Morrigan is going to drop dead. He is, accordingly, flexible — if Lear was born before September of 1862, he would have attended Ilvermorny, and if he was born after September he would have attended Hogwarts. Dealer's choice! Unlike Mor and "Edgar," Lear is not particularly interested in the curse. Since his father selling the business demonstrably didn't solve the curse, Lear is moderately annoyed that he was not able to have a shoe-in job. Lear is also homosexual and does not have an incredible history of discretion — whether he went to Ilvermorny or Hogwarts, he did almost get caught with another man his Seventh Year, and his tendency to let romantic sensibilities overtake his sensibilities is inevitably going to have additional consequences...

Morrigan's cousin, Edgar has been tight with Mor since childhood, particularly via letter. He attended Ilvermorny, and threw himself into researching their curse after his sister Margaret died in 1881. He has recently come to join the family in Britain in order to observe Morrigan, which is something she... does not particularly care for, actually! Two ways you can go with this 1) Edgar as reluctant-turned-eager scientist, who is tbh more interested in his obsession with the curse than he is in solving it; 2) Edgar is a Good Person who will do anything to save his family from what has befallen them. (Anything?) I will say that because Edgar has had to "have a job," Morrigan is actually ahead of him on research into their particular curse — whether she'll tell him that or not remains to be seen.

JOCASTA FLINT

B. 1884 | UCPB | TBD | INCOMING FIRST YEAR ('95)

Ghostly harassment and a traumatic, mother-killing fire really bring a father and daughter togehter. Jocasta (name flexible!) is the apple of her father's eye, and the last thing he has of the love of his life. Like her parents, she is quite intelligent, though tends to be more reserved—think first, act... maybe. She has spent almost her entire life abroad—as such, she does not have established friends going into school, but will be encouraged to look to her cousins if needed. Jocasta is afraid of fire and detests ghosts because of her past experiences (Hogwarts should be fun). She views Miss Hopewell as a second mother figure, and has done even since before her actual mother's passing. Suggested PB is Beau Gadsdon; alternatives should have dark hair and be white or able to pass for mixed race.

Orson would give her the option of attending PSYR Rosebuds in June for networking, but would not require it and she would come home weekends if she attends.

DRACONIA YARWOOD

The younger of Madoc's (legitimate) children, Draconia has always been a little bit more feral than her brother. Like her father, she understands the rules, she just doesn't like them. is likely your typical Gryffindor who thought becoming an Auror sounded like an absolute gas. Needed quite a bit of tutoring in school to get the grades, but more than makes up for it in fearlessness and gumption. May still need tutoring on the more academic side of things, but proves himself capable in the practical areas. Has promise, but also a bit immature sometimes. Mateo might have a soft spot for him as he reminds Teo a little bit of a younger version of himself.

May or may not be a metamorphmagus (an AtO required)!

Whatever his backstory, he's skating by a little bit on either nepotism, the allure of the adventure and danger or maybe he'd just a bit of a lucky idiot. Are you here to prove Mateo wrong or right?

The eldest of them all and inheritor of Grace McKinnon’s estate, Adam takes his job as executor extremely seriously (almost too seriously, Jack would say). He is closest to Eliza and would trust her with his life. One might assume he's a bit more tight-laced than the others, but in actuality, he's more enabling than anything. He encourages his sisters in their pursuits even if they're not appropriate in society's eyes, and is a not-so-closeted Romantic as well. Pictured is Sam Heughan with alternatives to have red or blonde hair.

Hippolyte Toulouse 'Rémy'

Arguably the most talented of the group, Remy is loyal and an all around cheerful chap. Having grown up in France alongside Helene, they often speak rapidfire French with each other until otherwise stopped by someone else in the group; usually Mateo or Irene that throws their shoes at them. During one of her last weeks in Italy, Irene figures out that Remy is in love with Mateo. Irene, predictably, bonds with him having been in a similar position in the Spring.

The Dempseys are an UCHB family who live near Galway in Ireland. They are all varying levels of eccentric, although still respectable enough to get invited to society things (their reps should reflect this). The name scheme - being named after a poem and the poet who wrote it - was decided on by Eamon and Lowri before they were even married.

A notable poet and cheerful eccentric, Eamon was his parents' heir. His hobbies include waxing poetic about the wilderness, going on ill-advised sailing ventures, and humouring his wife. Porphyria probably gets on fabulously with him.

(SCOTTISH NAME) GREYBACK

A distinct tomboy, she thinks its very unfair that only the boys get to become wolves and is determined to become an animagus so she can run with the pack, or see if she can convince one of her cousins to bite her when she turns 18 as well. She idolizes her father and shares his sense of humor. She can't wait to get to school but doesnt want to be in the same house as her sister. Her nannys and governesses are constantly trying to get her to behave in a 'lady like' manner and looking to her father to impose upon her but he just wont. She has free reign in her fathers house, and the idea of her father getting married again scares the living heck out of her. Her aunt (_______ Greyback -Spinster sister - 30) is her second favourite person after her father. The girls are 2 years apart which everyone is taken first will set the age of the other.

Dunstan Ruskin

Dunstan found out on February 28ish, 1890 that his sisters Acacia and Chrysanta had remembered him being dead ever since '87. It was a shocking revelation, and Dunstan counts his blessings every day since. He is a sweet and thoughtful boy.

Emilia and Elliott Rowle, b. June 25, 1885: Evangeline's twins, her pride and joy, and the only good thing Eva will ever acknowledge came out of her marriage. Eva is a very involved parent, by UC standards. Their personalities are open, but they're probably not having the most conventional upbringing. Their relationship to their extended family is also open, though Evangeline is actively not speaking to her parents, or letting them have access to her children, so it's somewhat limited. Reserved.

Dearest “Fortitude”, is the common saying around the Abbey. Having failed her examinations twice, she is now going for a third time. In addition to studying a third time for her examinations, she is also rather clumsy to a disastrous extent (don't ask Prudence how many medical instruments Fortitude has broken or knocked over in the past week). She perseveres, however, and she does it with gumption and eagerness. Pictured is Samantha Ellsworth, with alternatives open!

MELINDA nee HART

The eldest of the Hart children, Melinda followed her mother's example and became a healer—indeed doing so before she married between 1878 and 1882. She maintained, and still does, that it was important she found a husband who would love her because of her work, not in spite of it. She has at least one living child, though whether her husband is living or dead is up to her player. Suggested PB is Zawe Ashton; alternatives should pass for mixed race.

The Hufflepuff House Matron. The Matron manages the daily emotional and physical wellbeing of the students, and let’s be honest, probably includes Gus in that, especially now that he’s the Hufflepuff Head of House and feels like he’s in over his head. She may have known Mason and working through her own feelings, but obviously not a requirement. I don't have anything set in stone for how she and Gus would interact; they can be friends, bump heads, have a history, or slowly build something begrudgingly tender over the school year.

Gus may be a handful, but someone’s got to keep him in line, and maybe care about him a little too.

Personality wise she’s very open, although she is a former Hufflepuff so there should be a reason she was sorted there. She has to be middle class, have a rep of 7+, and either be a spinster or a widow per the occupation list requirements. Her face, ethnicity, and basically everything about her is open. Double duty is encouraged! Existing characters who fit the bill are welcome :)

THE ESTRANGED

“Diligent” Grimshawe did not live up to his name, or to his parents’ hopes for him. After leaving school during his fifth year (rumour has it he was expelled, though Win is not certain if this is accurate), he could not live a peaceable existence in his childhood home and so left Portsmouth for London. This proved to be lucky, as he was not anywhere near his former home for the Vanishing, though the Ministry of Magic did send him an owl when the disaster occurred. He never claimed his sister or even wrote to her; in her younger years, Win imagined her last remaining family off on adventures, perhaps even becoming a pirate or cursebreaker, but as a more sensible adult, she assumes he is the same thing their father called him when they last spoke: a huge disappointment. His occupation, status in the world, and even degree of humanity is up to his player! Suggested PB is Hunter Page-Lochard.

THE AUNT

"Ismene" is thier mother's sister, but polar opposite: sensible, bubbly, and warm, if a bit scattered—she more or less forgot her sister's children existed until Concordia came to visit on honeymoon at the turn of last year. However, reminded of this existence, she was eager to reach out to her brother-in-law and invite her remaining unmarried nieces for a Season! The girls' particular... afflictions were a unfortunate surprise upon their arrival., but not enough to deter her from taking them on again. She has children of her own, of course, but any daughters are either already married, fully spinsters, or still in school—the Lovegood girls will be her only focus this Season. Suggested PB is Jessica Capshaw with alternatives to be white.
