"Jack, darling, is that you?" Laurel popped her head into the hall from her sitting room at the sound of a young man's voice and grinned at she spotted the lad coming out of her darling herb's office. It was not uncommon for Jack to visit the Potts house, so much so that Laurel often just considered his comings and goings as those of her own daughters. But she had been meaning to talk to Jack and had managed to miss him over the course of the last few weeks. A shame, really.

"Come, join me for tea. Dahlia's just dropped off some truffles and biscuits." She was already striding toward him in a gesture that implied she certainly wouldn't be letting him off the hook and would shepherd him into the room whether he wished to have tea or not.
