Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
Had it really come to this? Passing Charles Macmillan back and forth like an upright booby prize?

Many Thanks

Mr. Crouch,
I hope that this letter finds you well. Or, at least, better than you were.

I wanted to thank you for your help in Honeyduke's. I'm not sure my outcome would have been nearly as favorable had you not pulled me from the shop. I'd likely be dead instead of with a broken wrist. I've included a small token of my gratitude for your assistance. Normally my work far exceeds what this sketch is but..I'm having to get used to using my left hand for the time being.

And if I could, I'd send some treats but since the troll ruined that even for me, I hope the sketch will do.
Sincerely,
Z. Potts

Miss Potts,

While I appreciate your letter (and the sketch), your thanks is entirely unnecessary; no one would have done any less, in a similar situation, and I'm glad that my interference at least saw you safely out of the building even if I wasn't able to do much good otherwise.

I'm not entirely sure I'll display this drawing anywhere, though the likeness is very good. I hope it won't offend you if I admit that I would much rather put the entire troll event behind me than be reminded of it. It's a very good sketch, though.

Mr. Crouch,
While that might be true, I imagine some would hesitate to run into a crumbling building. Not everyone would be so willing to risk their own life.

And I fully understand the desire to put it behind you. I'd like to as well but it seems to be the only thing my art portrays at the moment. That or flowers and I doubted that was really something you'd like. Regardless, should you prefer something better once this abysmal fog has left us, I have started attempting portraits and would gladly do one for you if you'd like. But if not, I do wish you the best and that you have no more run ins with those disgusting creatures.
Sincerely,
Z. Potts

Miss Potts,

I've temporarily relocated to London, at a gentleman's club, so I think I am quite safe for the moment from trolls (though I have been encountering my fair share of 'disgusting creatures' of another sort entirely). We'll have to see how the fog situation progresses before we plan any portraits, then, because at the rate the Ministry seems to be going with it we might as well just rename the United Kingdom to the Divided Kingdom and write Scotland off (for the magical citizens at least).

I assume you're back in Hogsmeade?

Mr. Crouch,
I'll admit, I'm quite curious what sort of 'disgusting creatures' you may still be encountering in a gentleman's club. I'd think they'd keep such things away from there. Unless, of course, you're running into things while in London. But I suppose that's not exactly my business either.

And yes, I was taken to the hospital here in Hogsmeade. My injuries weren't nearly as dire as those of you that had to leave on the train. Though, getting stitches in your face with just a pain potion was quite the experience. One I'd rather not repeat. The worst of it now is not being able to use my right hand for my painting. The pain is actually quite bearable otherwise.
Sincerely,
Z. Potts
