See also: future Minister of Magic, active feminist, and quite done with your male bs. Sobie is most likely known first for being one of the numerous Valenduris and secondly for her excessive activism and aggressive academic pursuits. She's very used to taking what she wants no matter the work required.


❧ Friends— Sobie is... intense. She didn't really form that many friendships until her third year when she learned finally that not everyone likes having her activism and studying desires shoved down their throats. Though she might still go on if you give her the opening. Ideal candidates would be girls around her age and guys if they tend towards more equality.

❧ Other Students— Again she is... intense. She's probably easier to dislike (or be neutral to) than like. She's competitive in her academics and favors being the best and is also very opinionated. She probably dislikes or tolerates you if you are conservative and open about it. She does like tutoring others and is probably good if you need a study buddy or time tables, notes, etc.

❧ Family— There are a lot of them. How do they feel about Sobie?

❧ Other?— Anything really!!! Hit me baby one more time. I do have a few loose, rattling ideas including: I would adore her to be taken in by an older feminist she can view as a role model (working at the ministry or as a healer are bonus points), someone to introduce the concept of women in pants to her, and she also is attending the Flint summer intensive and would love to network with various professionals - she wants to do everything.

I think I actually have Greta for Sobie! If she'll have her? even as a kids she could've tutored to make herself look better as a Prefect prospect. Greta is academically driven, competitive and a feminist (or rather she's never considered any of the traditional female jobs as something she's particularly interested in and really wanted to become a wizard initially because of the amount of female options available.)

I actually have two connections for you! Victoria here is in her year in Slytherin, and then of course I have her significantly younger aunt Parthenope.

  

I can see Sobie and Meta being friends! Meta is also intense, she'd also be into feminism and suffrage - first to get into the nerves of her family, but now she actually believes that. They can do Anarchy in the UK together

  

I also have Emma Binns - who is academic and WISHES she was feminist, her dad is intense and wants her to be perfect lil lady, and she is super struggling with that. Be a bad influence!

I think I actually have Greta for Sobie! If she'll have her? even as a kids she could've tutored to make herself look better as a Prefect prospect. I have it that Sobie started touring during her third year at school so that would check out with the time Greta came in as a firstie so if she had any particular class she found harder? Or if it was a more recent thing? (Though she didn't do it specifically because she wants to be prefect, just it was a natural progression. And her friends seemed to like it better when it was voluntary than forced haha.)
Does Greta know particularly what she wants to do? Regardless, if Isobel found out about it I feel like she very much would love encouraging any girl who is looking into non-traditional employment paths.

Ohhh now that could be a fun dynamic though they might need a third party to keep them from going to extreme. That dynamic gives me 'oops we didn't plan to set it on fire, we just got caught up in the moment' vibes. I do however think that in day to day interactions Sobie cares more about her image than Meta might? Where Meta falls into crash through ceilings and Sobie is more... make the ceiling be taken down? But would could try out a thread to see more where they fall?

Ohh Sobie loves the idea of that though she'd call it being a good influence, not a bad one. Would Emma actually approach or interact with Sobie? Or is she more worried about appearances and her family's wants? The answer could spin it either as a potential figure Emma looks up to or actual friends as Sobie might not be the type Emma's dad approves of her befriending.

I'll be honest, just by reading their profiles' I'm not really getting any kind of read on how Sobie feels about Parthenope or Morgan. My knee-jerk is she might favor Morgan more at this time just because she shows more academic leanings but that is pretty surface-level. I do kinda think she probably won't pay them all that much mind at school due to their age gaps but would be someone they could come to if someone was picking on them or if they were struggling in class.


If Victoria wants to go into DMLE or really any sort of career the pair probably will share many of their newts together. But I don't get the impression Sobie is very athletic beyond lawn games.

Obviously I've sucked this Summer. Anyway, yes, Greta found alot of the magic classes hard (so any you want to say works) because she was trying too hard so Sobie could've defineately started tutoring her as a Firstie, she needs less help now but would probably continue so she can keep her edge. As for what Greta wants to do she isn't exactly sure - she hasn't settled yet and was thinking of becoming a Healer, or working for Ministry. I'm currently thinking something with a field or practical component but who knows.
