Did You Know?
It’s quite unusual for a caster's patronus to be their favourite animal, but very possible that it will take the shape of a creature they’ve never before seen or heard of. — Amy
As he fell, Ford recalled the trials of Gulliver during his interactions with the Lilliputians.

A Not So Cinderella Story

It was odd to say it, but the firm grasp of someone’s hands around him was comforting rather than terrifying. And so was the grunted comment, spoken more to a feral pet hedgehog than a man; Aubrey, in spite of all his tingling limbs and all the eyes on him in the Great Hall, almost relaxed fractionally.

By the next moment, he was blinking in confusion again, as he squatted on the floor and Foxwood got up. (The blanket’s unceremonious dumping onto him was a warming, familiar sensation too, and Aubrey was half-tempted to pull it over his head and shoulders and hunker down in a dark little ball until he got to grips with the odd body he was in again.)

But there was still too much buzzing background noise and a sense that he needed to get away, so when Foxwood spoke Aubrey tugged the blanket around himself, a cloaking mantle where his spines had used to be, and gave a long, staring nod to profess his agreement.

Warily, barefoot and gripping the blanket awkwardly tight around himself, he waddled gracelessly after the professor, as trusting of him as a newborn babe might have been – but also more than ready to scratch and bite and snuffle angrily if anyone else dared to cut into his path.

Alfred had been expecting someone to intervene and prevent the feral man from crashing into the professor, or he had been expecting the professor to end up in a wrestling match with his health and dignity at stake. He had not been expecting the lunatic to end up swaddled in a blanket and shuffling towards the door. Had the other man beguiled him with some spell Alfred hadn't seen? If not, what exactly was the difference between his efforts to help via conjured blanket-cloaks and Alfred's attempt to help the bloke up? As far as he could tell, the crazy one was making no attempts to bite the professor.

"... the hell?" he muttered, to no one in particular. He did not expect that anyone had a clearer idea of what was going on than he did.

Basil was surprised at the surge of affection he had for the redheaded Cecil (whose name he realized he might actually now learn.) The hedgehog had become a constant in his life over the past few years, his companion on some of the longest evenings of research had yet. It was a comfort those nights to have someone to talk to, someone to ramble at and help him organize the chaos of his thoughts. He would miss that.

Luckily this time, unlike the last, there was little - Basil hoped - of his secrets that the man could know. He was almost sure he’d never had the nugget in his pocket for any of his exchanges with Lissington. At worst the hedgehog might be able to share just how eccentric the Transfiguration professor really was, passionate and mad about his subject. But anything more incriminating, Basil was relieved to think was safe.

He threw a hand over the blanket, shepherding the poor lost soul through the growing crowd. When they broke though, door to the Great Hall in sight, Basil took the lead and sighed as the noise of the crowd died down behind them. He made a straight beeline for his office.

"Let us move away from this scene," Royal suggested to the shaken young woman. It was then that he noticed another young woman on the floor. Everything had been so hectic that he had not noticed her at first. At least the cause of everything seemed to be getting lead away.

"Can someone help over here? A young woman has fainted," Royal called out as he knelt down beside the fallen girl and propped her head up to try and rouse her.

Rashmika would have been more than happy to comply with moving away from the scene, until her attention was drawn on her sister's unconcious body. Looking down upon her dear sister she gasped. "Chandrima." She stated with shaky breath. Glancing around quickly, she spotted her father, "Father, come quick, Chandrima has fainted." Worry was evident in her voice. She could only hope that Chandrima's fall had not hurt her head in the process.

As Chandrima roused, she registered three things in succession. First, that she was on the floor. Second, that her corset was terribly uncomfortable in this position. And finally, that there was a man holding her head off the floor. As she blinked her brown eyes open, her vision was unfocused for a moment, but after that moment, she quickly realized the man holding her head up was not one she knew — at least, not well. She vaguely recognized him from her dorm some years before, but she didn't recall his name. "Thank you," she uttered.

A beat later, her eyes found her worried sister, and she forced herself to shift into a sitting position. "Is he gone?" she asked, referring to the deranged footman.

Once he had made sure the young woman he had shielded was doing okay and she had a friend and a brother to look after her, Dorian turned his attention to what Mr. Pyrites had called out. A young lady had fainted and he needed help! He hurried over there, grabbing a lemonade off of the refreshments table and knelt down beside Miss Meredith, whom thankfully had awoken and had her sister by her side and hopefully their father would be there soon. “Here, miss. Drink this - it’s lemonade, it’ll help,” Dorian said, speaking quietly so as to not upset her, “Yes, the man - he’s gone. Professor Foxwood escorted him out. You're safe now, okay?”
