  1. What's your all-time favorite board/card/dice/rpg/etc. game?
  2. What was either your favorite game as a child? OR What game do you love to play with children?
  3. What's your favorite party game to play with a crowd?
  4. What's your favorite game to play with cards? (Ex. Uno, Cards Against Humanity, Deck Building Games, Gin Rummy, etc.)
  5. What's your favorite competitive game?
  6. What's your favorite co-operative game? (IE. You all win, or you all lose.)
  7. Favorite 2 player game?
  8. Favorite adult game? (Inappropriate.)
  9. Favorite RPG or storytelling game?
  10. Which game do you find yourself playing over and over again?

Board games are the bomb diggity and I'll never not love them.
  1. What's your all-time favorite board/card/dice/rpg/etc. game?
+ I love Uno as an all-around game, mostly because it's (1) easy to carry around, (2) mostly everyone knows how to play, and (3) it's based both on luck and strategy so you can't be completely out-witted.

  2. What was either your favorite game as a child?  OR  What game do you love to play with children?
+ I loved playing "Life". I always loved to imagine what my future would be like, and I always used to play in in lieu of the "play pretend" that kids seem to do. (I always thought playing with plastic foods in a plastic kitchen was stupid, anyways :P)

  3. What's your favorite party game to play with a crowd?
+ Bold of you to assume I go to parties or lurk in crowds. Jk, I love the card game "Werewolf" where you play as villagers and try to figure out who in the group are the werewolves that strategically kill off everyone at "night" (aka when heads are put on the tables). We also did this game during senior week in high school, where one of my friends had a deck. There's an online version called Town of Salem that's similar, but I definitely prefer the in-person version.

  4. What's your favorite game to play with cards?  (Ex.  Uno, Cards Against Humanity, Deck Building Games, Gin Rummy, etc.)
+ I said Uno, but I'll give my SECOND favorite which is called "Bullshit" (or bullcrap/BS for family-friendly or "Cheat" in the UK). I first played this in 11th grade US History class when we had no curriculum left to cover at the end of the year, and funnily enough it was my teacher who showed us how to play. I loved sitting around with my classmates playing it, as everyone was SUPER competitive.

  5. What's your favorite competitive game?
    + Monopoly??

  6. What's your favorite co-operative game?  (IE. You all win, or you all lose.)
+ I've never played one of these, tbh :P

  7. Favorite 2 player game?
+ Chess, or if I'm feeling childish, Connect Four.

  8. Favorite adult game?  (Inappropriate.)
+ Cards Against Humanity, of course :P

  9. Favorite RPG or storytelling game?
+ Does World of Warcraft count??

  10. Which game do you find yourself playing over and over again?
+ Uno mostly because there's a mobile version of it, too.

What's your all-time favorite board/card/dice/rpg/etc. game?
Remember the HP 1 trivia board game? Listen, as a kid I had a "favourite" babysitter who trumped out the usual babysitter because she always brought HP trivia over. Eventually I had a whole collection of HP games myself, including that & CoS trivia & HP Cluedo & SceneIt! (Remember SceneIt?!) and obviously these had the dual benefit of being my obsession and being something I could always win. Lmao.

What was either your favorite game as a child? OR What game do you love to play with children?
Coppit. There was a moth-eaten, fifty-year-old version of it that used to sit around in my grandparents' basement in Canada, but with the non-disgusting, chewed up version, it's a game that's as much luck as it is strategy... and from a kid's perspective, nothing is more fun than eating the other people's hats and winning in a towering pile. xD

What's your favorite party game to play with a crowd?
Articulate, hands down! I used to be sleepover HQ for all my friends purely for the iconic memories/in jokes created by this game. Basically it's just a "describe the thing without saying the word" but people say the dumbest things and it's fabulous.

What's your favorite game to play with cards? (Ex. Uno, Cards Against Humanity, Deck Building Games, Gin Rummy, etc.)
As a kid, Top Trumps, I had endless themed versions. <3 Recently my family has gotten insanely into Sussed, which is essentially that game they do with married couples on tv where you find out who knows who best... but it's basically answering quiz questions about yourself/your fam & friends, and nothing is funnier than your brother saying, with a totally straight face, "If I were a cat, I'd be most likely to..."

What's your favorite competitive game?
I actually have an intense love/hate relationship with Monopoly but once upon a time my friends and I ran around London for a "monopoly challenge" and it was one of the funniest days out of my life.

What's your favorite co-operative game? (IE. You all win, or you all lose.)
...I can only think of a game called "Max" from my childhood where you try and stop a cat eating some rodents. So... yeah. That.

Favorite 2 player game?
That card game called Speed/Spit/Slam that I knew as "Stop" where you have to be super-fast at shedding cards, except my friend and I used to play the version with multiple rounds that could go one for like, four hours at a time.

Favorite adult game? (Inappropriate.)
I've just found out there's a version of Sussed called Sussed After Dark. So. Huh.

Favorite RPG or storytelling game?
I can't think of anything I play that could go into this category sadly.

Which game do you find yourself playing over and over again?
This has made me realise it's been a WHILE since I've played a board game, actually. xD

EDIT: I've just realised all of the above is a lie. In truth, I'm a jigsaw puzzle person all the way, and the family favourite game is doing jigsaw puzzle "races" with rando puzzles from my childhood. PUZZLES.

- Setback AKA Pitch
2. What was either your favorite game as a child? OR What game do you love to play with children?
- Clue
3. What's your favorite party game to play with a crowd?
- Apples to Apples but also Werewolf?
4. What's your favorite game to play with cards? (Ex. Uno, Cards Against Humanity, Deck Building Games, Gin Rummy, etc.)
- Still Pitch.
5. What's your favorite competitive game?
- I would die for Pitch
6. What's your favorite co-operative game? (IE. You all win, or you all lose.)
- I'm too competitive for this >.>
7. Favorite 2 player game?
- only child problems lmao
8. Favorite adult game? (Inappropriate.)
- King's Cup
9. Favorite RPG or storytelling game?
- Interestingly I've never played D&D! It's my last bastion of nerddom!
10. Which game do you find yourself playing over and over again?
- Sabina would, still, die for Pitch.

  1. I can't really choose, but right now, it's:
And all of its other versions!  Regular Fluxx, Zombie Fluxx, Monty Python Fluxx, etc. etc.  I highly recommend it.  It's a card game where the rules are constantly changing, so you never play the same game twice.  It takes a couple times through to learn how to play, but then it becomes downright addicting.

  2. I put two for this one because Quelf technically wasn't out when I was a child.  Quelf is so random and hilarious that it's definitely a kid's game.  However, Life holds a forever place of honor in my heart.
    [Image: quelf.jpg?w=580] [Image: download-6-1-200x200.jpg]

  3. I love Taboo.  Listening to people say one word over and over again because they can't think of anything else to describe the word on the card is gold.

  4. I have recently fallen in love with this game.  It's a deck building game where you're trying to build words.  This explains it better.

  5. There are sooo many good games I could put for this category like Risk or Catan or Takenoko or 7 Wonders, but I have to go with this classic that requires zero skill, but it become cut-throat if you're playing for quarters:

  6. Castle Panic!  With or without its expansions.  You're basically trying to work together to save your castle from attacking monsters.  It's wonderful.

  7. Cribbage.  My grandfather and I could play it for hours.

  8. I want to say Cards Against Humanity because I LOVE it, but I have to say Seven Deadly Sins.  It's dirty Trivial Pursuit with the categories each being a sin.  However, in order to earn your pie piece, you have to DO something based on the sin.  This could mean that you have to eat an unusual amount of one type of food item, give a friend a lap dance, dress as a drag queen, or many other crazy things.  This is a game I played in college, and it's, um, both extremely uncomfortable and hilarious.  It's also a game that I probably won't ever play again.  haha
    [Image: 7%20Deadly%20Sins_center200_8578.jpg]

  9. Above and Below is a storytelling game.  I've only played one rpg that was based on Star Wars, but I don't have anyone to do anything DnD-ish, so it ended there.  :/  Above and Below is super fun, though!
    [Image: Above_and_Below_3D_box_200x200.jpg?v=1511841094]

  10. Rummikub!  I've been playing this since I was probably 8.  It's a family favorite, and we play it so often.  It's a tile game that's kind of like rummy the card game, but different.

I swear by the card game Red Flags for a group card game and everyone in my family loves Ticket to Ride as a boardgame. Quick and easy card game that my friends and family love is monopoly card game. Also phase 10. Loved Quelf and Cranium growing up and in college. My cousin swears by Villagers as a fun board game. Also for the dark sense of humor that my family has the game Donner Dinner Party. Personally I love Citadels as a card city building rep game.

What's your all-time favorite board/card/dice/rpg/etc. game?
I would say the card game Tichu

What was either your favorite game as a child? OR What game do you love to play with children?
So, when we were a child we bought this board game casino thing and there was a roulette and a roulette table, so I LOVED playing that xD

I also loved playing Ludo.

What's your favorite party game to play with a crowd?
There's a party game which in Greek is called Lighter and basically there is a lighter and someone has the lighter and someone asks them something like "who's the most likely to get married this year" and you have to pass the lighter to whoever you think will do the thing.

What's your favorite game to play with cards?
Titchu but I also love Uno and Cards Against Humanity.

What's your favorite competitive game?
Tichu xD

What's your favorite co-operative game? (IE. You all win, or you all lose.)
Does Tichu count again? xD You are a pair with another person so you have to win together.

Favorite 2 player game?
I guess since the only two I can think of are chess and backgammon, I'll say those two. I'm leaning towards backgammon but I've also forgotten how to play.

Favorite adult game? (Inappropriate.)
I once played strip Jenga where you'd have to strip anytime your wooden tower fell. Wink

Favorite RPG or storytelling game?
The only one I've played is "Night Falls in Palermo".

Which game do you find yourself playing over and over again?
Tichu xD

J'ADORE BOARD GAMES! We've probably a few thousand quids worth

  1. What's your all-time favorite board/card/dice/rpg/etc. game?
Incredibly hard to pick! Favourite Big box game is Twilight Imperium, it takes 2-3 days to play a full game of it.
Favourite smaller game is  Smash Up, a nice palette cleanser and you don't play the same game twice.
RPG - I run a fun Marvel game, very easy and self contained, and I'm part of a great Game of Thrones campagin, been running 2 years.

Each has their appeal - and feel a bit apple and organgey

  2. What was either your favorite game as a child?  OR  What game do you love to play with children?
I didn't really do board games as a kid, but we love playing King of Tokyo with our niece and nephews. Hugh is just getting to grip with domino's

  3. What's your favorite party game to play with a crowd?
For light/fun play - I like Epic Spell Wars of the Battle Wizards: Duel at Mt. Skullzfyre - hilarious, easy to learn, gets more ridiculous the tipsier people get. Munchkin is good fun aswell for the same reason. With the right group 'Marrying Mister Darcy' is the best game to play with drinking!

  4. What's your favorite game to play with cards?  (Ex.  Uno, Cards Against Humanity, Deck Building Games, Gin Rummy, etc.)
I like Magic the Gathering, but usually standardised/constructed versions rather than competition versions which are mostly about money.

  5. What's your favorite competitive game?
Too many to count - Twilight Imperium or Terraforming Mars would be in the lead depending on the mood

  6. What's your favorite co-operative game?  (IE. You all win, or you all lose.)
betrayal at House on the Hill - you all start together, exploring a haunted house and at a random point in time one member of the team is revealed as the 'enemy' and a horror movie starts -evil priest, mad scientist, creepy children - it's got it all.

  7. Favorite 2 player game?
Tokaido - super chilled, but vaguely passive aggressive game (at least how we play it!)
Hero Realms - we played that for the first 8 hours of my labour.

  8. Favorite adult game?  (Inappropriate.)
It has to be cards against humanity

  9. Favorite RPG or storytelling game?
I like Gloom -it's a bit different in terms of story telling, Marrying Mister Darcy is also in that vein.
RPGS - Marvel, Firefly and Game of Thrones are my go to, but I also have some pathfinder characters who are good for adhoc play.

  10. Which game do you find yourself playing over and over again?
Lords of Waterdeep - simple enough to sell to non-gamers, but complex and big boxy enough to satisfy the board gamers

Hubs and I are out of room for board games in our house haha

1. What's your all-time favorite board/card/dice/rpg/etc. game?
Betrayal at House on the Hill or Dominion, although I'll never turn down Ticket to Ride.

2. What was either your favorite game as a child? OR What game do you love to play with children?
I liked Life, a lot. Phase 10 too.

3. What's your favorite party game to play with a crowd?
One Night Werewolf is a lot of fun! The bigger the crowd, the more fun it is.

4. What's your favorite game to play with cards? (Ex. Uno, Cards Against Humanity, Deck Building Games, Gin Rummy, etc.)
Dominion. It's a deck building game.

5. What's your favorite competitive game?
Power Grid or Keyflower, even if I've never won that game in my life.

6. What's your favorite co-operative game? (IE. You all win, or you all lose.)
Betrayal House on the Hill. Gloomhaven is enjoyable.

7. Favorite 2 player game?
Seven Wonders Duel. We play Near & Fear or Above & Below a lot too.

8. Favorite adult game? (Inappropriate.)

9. Favorite RPG or storytelling game?
Near & Far or Above & Below. We play the campaign which has an actual storyline.

10. Which game do you find yourself playing over and over again?
Whatever we're in the mood for. We play Gloomhaven weekly because hubs is obsessed with it.

I clearly missed this thread when it first happened but everyone's lack of cooperative games is CRIMINAL. They're SO GOOD.

- Spirit Island
- Pandemic
- Sail
- Mansions of Madness (& other Arkham Horror games)
- Betrayal at House on the Hill
- Solar Storm
- Gloomhaven
- Sherlock Holmes, Consulting Detective

... are all cooperative games I have on my shelf right now and tbh if we're having a game night you have to have a STRONG case to get me playing a competitive game over them, they're all so good.

/part of this preference is that I am also too competitive, to the point where if someone does something underhanded in a competitive game it takes me like 15 mins to come down from the intensity of my rage lol

Edit to add- we also play SCRABBLE collaboratively in my house (you're working together to get your combined score over 500) which shows you how strong my preference for collab is. Jack and I played Scrabble competitively one time and he decided it was not worth the headache ever again lol
