He was grateful for her company; this was very exciting. Enid knew she should be less thrilled about her crush when people were dying in London, but she couldn't stop herself.

Enid ate, rapidly, when Nigel was at the bar, because she was no longer embarrassed about eating too quickly when no one was watching her. Her plate was empty by the time he came back. "I'm ready if you are," Enid said gently. "Thank you, again."

By the time Nigel had the meal added to the family tab, which admittedly took a moment, but traffic through the normally quiet (this time of day) pub was higher than usual. It gave Enid time to finish though, which she had by the time he returned and he hoped she hadn't rushed.

"You're welcome." Any time. He did enjoy her company. "Let me walk you back to the farm." It wasn't too far out of the way and he could use a little more time before being around his family. Plus he was determined to make sure she got home alright.
