A smattering of old time romance

Josiah was, admittedly, a little charmed. Her exuberant nature had bridged the gap usually left by his shy, awkward nature when it came to conversing with people that he was not related to. "How would I go about doing so? Do you receive post by owl or have an address?" He supposed he could borrow his wizarding brothers owl. That would be quicker than a letter by post that might not reach her until after the event was said and done with.

Viola blinked, taken aback by the question – but also a little internally thrilled, because if he was asking then it sounded like he meant to take her up on that in earnest, and had not just brushed it away with polite agreement. Oh, how nice. “Yes, I live at 23 Mill Street, Pennyworth,” she said shyly, but beaming nonetheless. “But if you have an owl –” she wasn’t sure whether muggles had owls or not, since she had never had any muggle friends before, “I’m sure it will find me. They seem very wise, owls.”

She hadn’t meant to say that last aloud, but oh well. Viola twisted her hand into the folds of her dress, hoping he really would try to write to her.

Josiah filed away the address mentally. An owl would probably be easier. Jason had said that they could find their intended recipient practically anywhere. "I do not. But I do have a wizarding brother and magical in-laws that I am sure would let me borrow theirs."

“Wonderful,” Viola agreed, because this meant he definitely had no excuse not to write to her. (Unless he didn’t like her, but there was nothing she could do about that.) “Well, I’d better go and find my sisters,” she admitted, teetering on the balls of her feet and wishing she didn’t have to go, because she really would have liked to dance with him again. “But maybe I’ll see you again?” She gave him another small smile, really hoping he would write.

Josiah smiled shyly when she agreed. Thankfully, she had to go find her sisters. He was sure he would end up embarrassing himself if he stayed in her presence for much longer. "Perhaps," he agreed when she mentioned perhaps seeing him again.
