Juniper Edevane is a couple years younger than her, but also a Slytherin; she has a fascination with beasts/creatures/dark arts, so she may have gone out of her way to befriend Chrysanta. (Plus there's a plot in the works that turns June into a vamp a few years down the line, and it'd be nice to have a friend for her if/when that happens.)
