Dear Ms. Alice Dawson,
I am relieved to hear that both you and Sloane made it out unharmed. The boy in question had to spend some time at Hogsmeade Hospital due to some odd injuries to his limbs. The healers did their best, but it seems one of his legs may be permanently misshaped. Thankfully, he is still able to walk, but not without difficulty.
London. That does sound like quite the adventure. We've ventured there a few times. Have you had the chance to visit the library? While the one at Hogwarts is formidable, I would have to admit that Crowdy Memorial Library left me speechless the first time we set foot inside.
To be candid, I am not sure I could ever become accustomed to Hogwarts without you. I would miss you terribly. After all, a few of out friends might find themselves expelled without our intervention. Can you imagine the the havoc Bixby and Gillenwater would reap? I do hope your grandmother would intervene should that ever come to pass.
It is true that Anne's ambitious nature far outweighs the hard-headed Gryffindor part of her. I think we shall expect great things. I am glad that she has found a friend in you, as you aren't likely to encourage her to take her experiments too far.
I have mostly found odd jobs--de-gnoming, gardening, taking notes for a gentleman, and such. I've also been assisting a local woman by fetching potions ingredient for her. Her and her husband run a shop that caters toward adventurers, and they offer an emergency kit with useful potions. She's been finding it difficult to walk to town, so I have been aiding her. She used to be a traveling healer; I think she would interest you.
I do not think Anne would allow me to leave her behind, so she shall be accompanying me. I will endeavor to try and not permit her to talk your ear off too much.
Your friend,
Mr. Edison Moony
