Elsie knew her family had been informed of her hurried wedding and though the reason why could probably be guessed, Els knew she owed certain people the tell explanation. Sebastian was her closest relative, aside from her own siblings and it was necessary to explain herself personally, rather than let the rumors well, ruminate.
He'd agreed to come visit and Elsie felt it was better that Tyb was working late tonight. Though they had been friendly at school, Elsie suspected nobody in the family was particularly happy about this news and so she would rather face it alone to start. She had tea and cookies ready in case he wanted some, but it felt sort of odd hosting at this little flat that was barely hers. It was pretty empty now that Mr. Hatchitt was in the process of moving out, something she also felt guilty about, even though he didn't seem to altogether mind. Elsie wasn't sure what, if anything to really unpack as she and Tyb were still in the process of figuring out what they could afford and when they could make the final move. There was a lot up in the air at the moment.
Anxiously awaiting his arrival, Elsie sat on the sofa with a book she couldn't concentrate on. The knock at the door tightened the knot in her stomach and she quickly marked her page and moved to open it. She exhaled slowly when she found Seb smiling on the other side. "Hello," She greeted with a hesitant smile of her own. "I'm so happy you could come. Please, come in." Els swung the door open so that he could make himself comfortable.
"I have tea," She started as she closed the door behind them and resumed her position on the sofa, though perched on the edge a little less comfortably than she had been previously. "And an explanation." She smiled wryly now, leaning forward to pour two cups of tea.
