Alfred so rarely snapped at her that Zelda blinked at him, a little startled. "So, what," she said, her voice pitching upwards with irritation, "I'm supposed to just hear you say no and not do my job?" It was unlike Alfred to say anything negative about her job at the Ministry, at least to her face — negative things about the Ministry itself, sure, maybe, but that was still a far cry from preventing her from helping with a catastrophe.
