"Hmm," Emrys responded, as though having to think. "I'm not sure what her name would have been at Hogwarts. She's widowed now," he explained. He actually didn't know what her maiden name had been, which was probably why he had so little idea about her family situation, vis-a-vis potential in-laws. Since he'd first put her name on his list he had thought her an intriguing possibility, but a slightly far-fetched one, so his research into her background had been rather minimal. He hadn't expected to have a chance to interact with her at least until the Hogwarts school year was out, and he'd half expected to be deeply involved with some other unlucky woman by then. Not because he particularly wanted to be, but he was making an effort to be charming at the moment, and he had every recommendation towards marriage, he thought. A good family name (if a little sullied by association with his brothers), a strong business and steady source of income, and unimpeachable character (at least so far as the public was concerned). In short, he thought the most difficult part of finding a wife would be in choosing one, not in wooing one.
Between the blizzard and this ungodly business with the duel, however, he'd had more than a few distractions from the task of bride-hunting, and now he was playing catch-up. He would have preferred to have had this conversation long before Professor Vorona was set to visit him, so that he could have ruminated on whatever information he received, but he hadn't been able to manage it before now (and to be honest, if he was actually invested in being a good second to this duel he oughtn't to have been here even now).
"Professor Vorona," he told his sister, hoping she would recognize the name. "She teaches Arithmancy at Hogwarts, I think. I met her at the dueling reception earlier this month, and then she went on to win the tourney."

Lou made this! <3
