After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.

Antigone had a dragon?

As ominous as that sounded, Ellory perked up. She loved magical creatures and occasionally filled her new house with them as well. She had never seen a dragon up close, only eggs that her Care of Magical Creatures professor had brought in class.

Why did Antigone have a dragon? She had surely bought one to spite her, to make her jealous. Everyone in the family had heard of Ellory's adventures with the billywig from Australia. Antigone had gone and gotten an even more impressive creature to spite her!

"Baby dragon, I assume?" Ellory replied as she slowly followed Antigone to wherever the creature was kept. Antigone couldn't have an adult dragon, her estate wasn't that big.
