Ellory didn't want to attend Antigone's ball. Claude didn't want either, but they both agreed that they couldn't snub their cousins' event. They would attend, wait for the year to change, and then politely leave. Thanks to Ellory's condition, they could do so without being taken the wrong way. She was pregnant, she couldn't get strained when she could be carrying the next Lestrange penis-bearer.

The ball wasn't even that enjoyable. What did fire have to do with the New Year? Antigone had no talent for hosting parties. At least Ellory spiked some of her drinks with mild hallucinogenic potions, Antigone's parties didn't even have that.

She didn't leave Claude's side since they had arrived, so they could quickly leave once the time came. However, he had been called by some relatives, leaving Ellory on her own.

"And why wouldn't I? This is a ball, not the Triwizard Tournament," Ellory replied with fake politeness. She wasn't afraid of Antigone, but she didn't feel like spending time with her either. Now that she was pregnant, she felt a need to protect her unborn child. This had tamed Ellory's desire to fight Antigone a bit.
