"Of course," Gideon said with a smile. He'd guessed by her attire and the way she carried herself that she might be interested in something more than just the same basic wand any first-year might have in hand to head off to Hogwarts. Adults in general tended to want to invest more in their wands, too — they knew, perhaps, more about how important they were and how they intended to use them.
Gideon reached down to open a long, shallow drawer and removed a tray from within. On a small cushion of black velvet several prototype handles were laid out, with cylindrical holes where the wand would go. "These are examples. You can slide them over the wand itself to see how they would look, or hold them to see how they feel in your hand. Once you've made a selection I would fit it to your wand and it would be ready to pick up tomorrow. The wand would have to stay here, of course, until then," he explained. Pointing to a few different handles on one end of the tray, which ranged from a simple, straight sleeve to highly ornate decorative swirls, he continued, "These are the standard silver options. If you've something particular in mind, there's also custom designs — though they do take longer and are a bit more expensive. But I've done things like animal figures at the hilts, or family crests, just to give you an idea of what sort of things are possible."
