Dear Aunt Nephele,I do think it wise for me to return home for the winter holiday. I should feel more comfortable studying for my NEWTs from the comfort of my bedroom, and I would very much like to enjoy the Hogsmeade festivities (and, of course, it would be unwise to stay when it would mean missing Christmas Eve church service)!
I appreciate your thoughtfulness. For Christmas I only ask for a new bottle of perfume and a coin purse.
I think Meta has long relinquished her childhood beliefs. She's an independent girl—maybe too much so—and I cannot imagine her entertaining such childish beliefs at her age. Still, I'm sure she would appreciate your thoughtfulness in asking.
Love,
Frida
