Speaking of food — Juliana remembered she had a biscuit in the apron pocket of her coat, wrapped in a bit of napkin that she'd bought at one of the stalls. "Oh! Do you think this is what he's after?" she asked as she removed it, holding it a bit closer to the pup's nose to see how he reacted. "I'd entirely forgotten it."
