April 20th, 1890 My dear niece,
Of course, Emma! You may drop by whenever you would like. You are always welcome at the shop. I may have a few special projects for you this summer, if you're amiable. I have a few children in and out of the shop who are headed to Hogwarts in the near future. I think they would truly benefit from having an older student to speak with who could soothe some of their worries and perhaps direct them to texts that might help ready them for the future.
You may care for the shop's furry imps. Though, they are quite talented at managing themselves. Just be wary of Percival. He has grown cantankerous in his old age, and he doesn't take it lightly when anyone tries to relocate him from his favorite chair.
Since you seem very set on a cat, I have also included a book that Mrs. Billywig swears will be informative as well as amusing. As you know, she is the self-proclaimed mother of twenty-three. I have a strong inkling she is why we suddenly have a pair of calicos who have a habit of clearing off top shelves, but that is neither here nor there.
I wish you all the luck on your upcoming exams! I look forward to your return home.
Fondly,
Uncle Zachariah
Included with the letter is a nicely wrapped package containing two books: The Joy and Keeping of Cats by Ignatius Furman and Evangeline's Fall by C.M. Fischer. The second proved to be a fictional adventure novel about a girl and a dragon. It appeared to be a new publication, and there was a note inside that said, "For when you complete your exams."
