She listened intently, trying to tell herself that the level of intimidation she felt did not necessarily equate to him being an unpleasant person. Maddie knew she was smart, her grades had supported that view, if his intimation was an academic one, she should be able to hold her own - she was a Hufflepuff by work ethic, but she could go toe to toe with ever Ravenclaw in her year. Perhaps that was her unique selling point, a poor girls work ethic with a rich girls graces.
