Dearest Melody,
First let me offer you my congratulations. I know from experience how difficult such circumstances can be, how you can be blissfully happy and yet no one else sees it. I know that it was a difficult decision for you, but rest assured I am now, and always have been your most faithful friend. I sincerly hope that your family comes around to the events that have happened, but know that my home is always open to you and your husband.
Ace and myself have some news of our own. We are expecting our first child in July. I know this may scandalize many, but we are happy. I have never seen a man so taken at the idea of a child.
When you and Ben return from Paris you must visit. You know how terribly lonely Flint Manor can get, but I would love to see your lively smile light up its halls again.
Your friend always,
Lucy
