I wished to thank you for your kind wishes. I hope that I may live up to your expectations of such a position and find it a suitable fit.
Please do not trouble yourself over any kindness, it is only what any one might have done in such a situation. If you ever do find yourself in need of assistance, please do not believe my offer was given in vanity or insincerity, I shall be happy to oblige. Know that I cherish the memory of our friendship and meant every word of our conversation.
At the time I do not believe I would be able to meet for lunch, but I should hope that one day when my schedule allows this may be the case.
