It was weird for Avril to be sitting at the table with her family, in the same spot she'd sat the previous years. Last year, they'd thought her mother was dead, and she hadn't been married or pregnant.
And she'd had one of her memorable visions - she only remembered it because of her dropping her drink - of being married to someone she didn't know. She didn't remember what the guy looked like, but assumed it had been Warwick.
Her brother hadn't been a werewolf, nor married, Rosie wasn't a year old, and Sybille had just started Hogwarts. God, how a year changes people. She almost wished time would just... stop and give her a moment to breath before continuing.
She wondered if this is how her mother felt while they were growing up. She wondered if she'd feel the same, watching her children grow up.
Speaking of Sybille, she realized that her younger sister - though not the youngest - was absent from the table and wondered what she was doing that would make her miss brunch on Christmas.
Avril almost hoped to not see her sister, just so she didn't have to deal with anger towards her for having not said anything about her being pregnant. She dismissed that thought almost immediately, she missed her sister and could only see her on holiday. Unlike her other siblings that she could meet with whenever.
Well, King and Jolie she could meet and talk with more often - but they were still in school.
"You know what my favorite courses were." she replied, much like her mother, she hoped to make Lucille feel less intimidated by the larger family.
And hopefully take some of the pressure off Lucile meeting her purist husband.
