My great-grandmother, Agatha Hyslop, was born in the same year as Artemesia Lufkin, the first ever female Minister of Magic and like her she was also a Hufflepuff. The attended school together, were great friends and while this may in itself not be especially notable, I believe that it does show how we experience history without always realising it. My great-grandmother could not have known when she was a young girl that she was learning alongside truly remarkable witch so when I asked her this question over the summer she told me to look around at my classmates and see which ones I thought had the most sense, so I did.
I believe that in the fullness of time the half-breed ban the Ministry imposed upon Hogwarts will be seen as a terrible time in our history and those that were against it will prove to be right. I think their attempts to stand up for others mark them out as being good people and while I obviously don’t know if one of them will end up being Minister of Magic one day I think, as a Hufflepuff, Artesemia Lufkin would have been on their side.
