Despite hearing and comprehending every word she said, Handsome stared blankly. When did she ever not blame him for her life's problems? Darling, Pumpkin, Honey, Cupcake — they could all handle their own issues without pinning the blame on others! She accused him of not caring, and that was true to some degree; it was really hard for him to care about her issues when, in her mind, he was the cause of all of them!
"Honestly, Sweetie, I've lost all reason to even try to show that I care. No matter what I do, I'm the villain," he scoffed. "From your perspective, I am the root cause of all your problems, so I've done my best to keep a distance; it seems, though, that doing even that makes me the villain. How do you suppose I win? Bow to your every outburst? Demean myself simply to let you feel like you're right?" he questioned calmly, too emotionally drained to even think of yelling.
"Life doesn't work like that. I am not responsible for your friend troubles, nor do I care if your 'feelings' are hurt when I speak my mind. No one in this family has no problem with me beside you, so I'm left believing the problem is you," he added bluntly.
