At mention of a snack, Jin laughed again— this time more openly and genuinely. He should have figured his friend would be well equipped. Moon-ssi always had a habit of having munchies on him when the time seemed to call for it. Jin followed him into the jeongja and settled across from the other.
The air had a bit of bite to it today as a gentle breeze rustled falling leaves. The red and gold colors were vibrant and calming as water dribbled over a small pooling of rocks that ran just under the jeongja. It was one of Jin’s favorite places when the sun allowed him to trek up without being burnt alive. Luckily the seasons were changing and, despite the cold that drew a small shiver from him now, it was his favorite place to read.
Even today this little portion of the woods seemed awfully quiet, devoid of their classmates or Sensei. Jin smiled as he accepted the offer of jujubes and popped one in his mouth. They were also his favorite. “Gomawo,” he hummed. The wind blew again and Jin huddled in on himself, wishing he’d thought to bring some small dish to light a fire and carry around. He supposed any kind of flame was probably a bad idea in the jeongja though. “Are you excited for the match tomorrow?” He asked, curious about how his friend was feeling. The team had been practicing a lot it seemed lately, almost like they were preparing for something more than just an inter school rivalry game. Jin didn’t think twice about it; he just figured Moon-ssi was training hard.
