Ah well, so much for sneaking out. "Sorry," she mumbled, expression sheepish, though she wasn't even sure he could see her in the dim light of the room. "I was trying not to wake you— again." The whole thing felt a little childish now, but even just thinking about it had her shaking a little. She really needed to get a grip on these nightmares. She had crossed a boundary here she hadn't meant to and it was leaving her with feelings she knew she shouldn't be having, that she'd tried to bury, but had all bubbled over now.
"I should probably go." She started toward the window again, pausing before opening it. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have burst in here like that. It won't happen again." Sloane promised, but instead looked down at the hem of her nightgown instead of directly at him.
