Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
Had it really come to this? Passing Charles Macmillan back and forth like an upright booby prize?

Antelope was relieved when Corinne finally turned around and crossed her legs to give her the stage that she craved. "Oh really, they are... I could have sworn they... never mind." She equipped playfully at the comment on the location of her ears. The girl looked around the room conspiratorially as if the last person to leave might have, in fact, stopped just out of sight to listen to the gossip.

"Well, I don't know if you are friendly with the Slytherin prefect, Miss DeCroix, but I heard that all this la de da she talks about leaving school to get married is true. She's leaving at the end of term and getting married in January." She put her hands on her mouth with mock shock. It wasn't actually the most shocking news as the girl had gone on about it for three years now since the decision was made for her.

"I don't think I could imagine even considering leaving school yet, there is so much more to learn.... and certainly not for a boooy." That was one thing that Antelope and Corinne had in common, at least that Antelope believed they did. Neither of them was seeking romance with anyone. There were a couple of people Gigi felt close enough to that she could consider at least entertaining that she might be married one day, but right now she was content enjoying her education with her circle of friends, particularly this one. Why couldn't people just be content with a best friend?

"Anyway, that leaves Black looking for a new Slytherin prefect, doesn't it? Do you think they might give it to Moony after all the drama in the autumn?". Antelope liked Anne, she liked her and lot, more than her French compatriot, but she had doubts whether the school would see it fit to make that award.

She sighed, "I wonder who else might be leaving, I remember last summer when rumours went around about Miss Flitwick that she might be with child." She laughed and put her hand on Cori's knee and gave it a little squeeze.
