If you go the Nerdy Academic route there is Mr. Farris! Mattie should still be East Asian on one side but I have been vague with her exact parentage so far so I am open on the other side xD

He miiiight be too much overlap with Nigel or your other creature-people, and he's a bit uptight... but I also do kinda enjoy the idea that with Mattie out on the marriage market and potentially leaving home soon he's also maybe thinking about marriage again (and/or Mattie will set him up that way for the Shenanigans~)

Alternatively no matter the route you go I have all manner of men in their 40s who always need old friends/schoolmates/enemies... see: Ari, Evander, Philip, Phineas, Trystan xD
