My Darling Anne,
Careful Anne, I think you forget that Professor Lissington is one of my very best friends in the whole world. I know for a fact he does not hold to things such as class or blood being indicators or one's worth. And we are the same age, thank you very much.
You say you aren't a child, but you are acting like one right about now. Why is it Violet's responsibility to no to such a position you seem to hold such high regard for? She was chosen for it, so she should take it. Regardless of what she intends to do with her life in three years, it is really of no consequence to your path either. Being named prefect does not guarantee you the position you want, nor the prestige you think it does. Nobody at the ministry or the hospital cares if you were prefect or Head Girl. What matters is your attitude, your tenacity, your ability to work well with others, no matter their class or blood status. Right now none of those things are being highlighted.
Continue being friends or don't, but stewing about this "injustice" you think you have been dealt will only serve to fester and sour the things you have worked hard for. Don't play the victim, you should use this as a learning opportunity to be better in some way. You'll figure it out. Remember darling, the best apology is a change in behavior. I am not disappointed, but I think you have a lot of reflection to do here.
Love,
Aunt Winnie
