The day was pleasant enough, it was only the location that Millie found difficulty with. Nearby, the sound of splashing lures and grunts of effort as fish were stolen away from their natural habitats. She related quite sympathetically, stolen herself from the quiet serenity of her reading nooks to join her friend at the fishing competition by the parkside shore. Far enough from the comfort of her trees, Millie at least found a little in the book on her lap and the companionship of a friend.
Who seemed to be doing her best not to let her enjoy it.
"I'm doing fine from over here," she called back. The young witch distinctly recalled the last time she ventured onto the water, and had decided to take a healthy break from adventures that took her off the shore for a while. Even Anne's firm footing near the water left her glancing warily at its lapping surface, and she shook her head again. "Actually, I have a rather unique vantage point, it is quite thrilling in fact. So much that I might not even need my book at all."
With a tongue firmly planted in her cheek, Millie closed her book for effect. It was well enough that she should, the pages were in constant danger of falling victim to flying droplets —or once, a whole fish!— that splattered from the fisher-kids taking their chances with pole and proximity to the water. Today was pleasant enough, at least, the young witch decided that she could take a break from some reading for a while, too.
There was adventure enough in watching it, of course, or else she wouldn't enjoy her novels so much.
