I am planning a bachelor with a unique setup (because I am apparently allergic to just creating a normal, stable bachelor who might be an actual good match for someone.)
The plan is to use Emma D'Arcy as a play-by. They'll be nonbinary in nature-- born female, with two potential tracks to follow. Either:
A) They come from far away, have come into money but their background is a mystery. A wealthy cousin moving in from overseas after the tragic loss of their family. They are seen as a bachelor, and their gender is a carefully guarded secret. Which will not be at all awkward when it comes to marriage and succession...
B) Similar to that, but they ARE a known entity. They were their parents' only child. Parents who desperately wanted a boy, a male heir, and when their long-awaited baby arrived a girl they were raised as a son regardless.
I just thought it'd be fun if they were a cousin of some existing family, either UC or well-to-do MC, to give them connections?
