Normally when Cash was in Bartonburg, he was there to see Ford. Seeing Hudson felt new, and sort of exciting — he was more interesting than Cash's club acquaintances, he didn't run in Quidditch circles, and Cash didn't know him as well as his close friends. This would be different. Cash spent some time trying to figure out what to bring to Hudson's home. He'd normally bring alcohol, but they were drinking alcohol — and bringing something that wasn't for drinking felt odd. He eventually settled on getting a bottle of good fire whiskey, which was boring, but at least it was something so that he wasn't showing up empty-handed.
He took the floo over and brushed the soot off of his trousers and jacket. Cash smiled at Hudson and returned the handshake. He set the fire whiskey down towards the top of the table — away from the Tullamore, the main attraction — and sat down in the offered armchair.
"I'm intrigued to try it," Cash said — (although he could kick himself for how inane that was to say, and pivoted quickly.) "Anything interesting happen for you since February?"
