Feeling like he'd gone and ruined the moment, Alvin could only nod. That was probably for the better. Not that there was anything to be suspicious about, he rather thought it would look as such if they came strolling back into the party together.
He hesitated, unsure as to how to apologize or what for, exactly. His head was too jumbled, too full of a weird mix of thoughts to be able to explain himself and he didn't want to burden Miss Thompsett with his issues. Turning away, he turned back, shrugging out of his dinner jacket. "Keep warm." He said as he offered it to her. Even if she decided to leave it here in the snow, he had to at least try. Sloane would have killed him otherwise, but then again he could imagine the look on her face right about now. She would know what to say, but he could only wonder.
