Breakfasts (or dinners) with the whole family had always been part of Enid's life; sometimes she missed it, or sometimes someone else did, but it had always been part of life at the Glynn family.

She waited for him to order his drink and for the waitress to walk away, having mentioned that she'd return again in a minute with their drinks and so they could order food.
