Gus tilted his head up as he smiled at the girl while examining her flower arrangement with a keen eye. He wasn’t sure what she was doing, moving flowers and here but he wasn’t going to question her again. Could probably help her keep the flowers from falling too, but Gus knew he’d be really overstepping his bounds and the last thing he wanted to do was make a child cry by insulting (or ruining) their work. She seemed particularly proud of what she was accomplishing and who was he to ruin her pride?
"No, no, not the engorgio spell," Gus chuckled, shaking his head. "That would indeed be a bit too explosive for delicate flowers.” He couldn’t help but wonder if her stand had been wrong or if her wand movement had been too stiff to explode flowers, but it didn’t seem like there was any harm done. When he got back to his room, the professor would try it just to see if flowers were too delicate for the spell. He cleared his throat. “The spell is herbivicus. It's a gentle spell that encourages plants to flourish and bloom beautifully.”
Blue eyes blinked, seeming to think before he nodded. “Do you want to come down and learn it? Or would you prefer that I cast it on your flowers so you can see?” This was his favorite part about being a professor, getting to watch his students learn practical spells to help them in their everyday lives. If she was a student or an incoming one, she had to have a wand, plus he was a professor, so underage magic was expected to be used with him overseeing it. He wasn’t sure if she’d ever use herbivicus again, but it was always a nice spell to have in his back pocket if he wanted to impress someone. Gus tugged his wand out and let it dangle from his fingertips.
