Betrayed was another word that came to mind, but that wasn't necessarily something she could assign to Kitty Fogg. This woman had no ties to her; no trust to betray. Finlay held that distinction, but Finlay was dead and beyond her reach.

She could also have said financially ruined, but Francesca hardly intended to stay that way.
