Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
Had it really come to this? Passing Charles Macmillan back and forth like an upright booby prize?

OWL Herbology - Semi-sentient Plants
#2
Fanged Geraniums are incredibly useful plants in the wizarding world because they can be used as weapons, potion ingredients, and ingredients in various foods. When observed, you will find that they have green leaves with blue or red flowers that have sharp fangs that will certainly bite anyone who gets a little too close and is not careful. If using this plant as a weapon, if you are trying to defend yourself while in a garden, you can certainly throw it at someone and expect the Fanged Geranium to latch onto your opponent. However, it's more commonly used as a potions ingredient. Fanged Geraniums are used in both Skele-Gro, a potion used to regrow lost bones, and Strength Potion, a potion used to give the drinker increased strength. We can infer that in both potions, the Fanged Geranium has strength-enhancing properties which makes it excellent for both potions, and it's those properties that those who choose to cook the plant are trying to get when eating it. Finally, it is noted that some scholars believe that the War of Roses, a Muggle conflict in 1455-1487, was actually started due to an argument between neighbors over a Fanged Geranium, however it has not yet been proven.
